Any Tips for Alameda Hospital New Grad Interview?

Published

Hi, I am having my first hospital interview with Alameda Hospital in a week. I have been out of school for six months and still struggling to find a job in the bay area! Does anyone have any tips or suggestions? Anyone interview with them before?

Thank you so much for your time and advice!

Ok thanks all! I guess we just wait until our start date. I'm excited to start:)

Hi guys!

I was just wondering!

for those who will be working on the med surg unit, have any of you tried asking our supervisor, erik, for our actual on the floor working schedule after all of the orientation days. :)

Hi kay26,

I have not tried but I believe all of that will be given to us during orientation. The only thing that I've received from HR is what shift I'll be working.

Hi,I emailed him and was told that we'll be following a preceptor for 3 months then after that they will have a schedule for us to work on the floor.

Thank you both! :)

Hi all! I recently applied for the new grad program at highland hospital. I am a new grad with no paid RN position and my school didn't give us the option to precept. Do you think I'll be considered for a position? Also, how soon after sending in applications did you get a notice from HR that you will Been moving forward? Thank you so much for your help!

Finally found a thread on here related to the New Grad Program at Alameda Hospital! I hope those who were once active on this thread will see the newest postings.

Congratualtions to those of you who were fortunate to get a call back from HR & then selected for the position! That in itself is a huge accomplishment =)

I was hoping to get some advice on an upcoming panel interview I have next week. How did you prep and what types of questions were asked of you?

Thank you in advance and hope you are all striving in your new RN position!

I applied for the same position in late November & got a call this week. So it takes roughly about 5-6 weeks, but you must also take into consideration the many holidays that occurred from since then.

I know people who were invited for the ER and ICU interview. It was a panel of 5 or 6, and each take turns asking you a question. Mostly behavioral questions with 1 clinical scenario.

Why do you want to work for highland

why do you want to work for this unit

what kind of people do you have trouble working with

what kind of people have trouble working with you

asthma scenario

if you do "well" they will invite you to second round of interviews. I heard they interviewed about 100 this cycle, and will hire 5. Good luck

Thank you so much CA_nurse90! Hire 5 out of 100?! Well that's nerve-wracking :(
