hi... i attended a certain agency's seminar regarding how to get a license in queensland... but the problem is... I haven't heard any news that someone has completed the process. The payment to be made is just the with what linkrn posted. i hope someone can send me a private message of the name of the agency so I would know if it is the same with the one I am talking about... I also have a few questions. I hope someone could help me out with this because I am very confused with the many programs I have read and heard.
I am a registered nurse in the philippines w/ no work experience. I want to go to australia to work as a nurse...
do i need to study again for 2 years to be registered?
do i need to attend a bridging course? and for how long... because I have heard of an agency requiring 2 years experience and a bridging course to be registered in Australia
I hope someone could answer my questions....
THANKS!!!!

Please take the time to do a search and also read the few threads already on the go in the International forum. Generally experience is required and dependant on transcripts plus experience a bridging program is required

Hello xysy25,
You may want to check this thread for further information regarding registration in Australia.

As a general rule, Filipino nurses who have no experience either need to do a bridging program or finish a 1-2 year conversion program.

What is a conversion program? Can you work as a assistant in nursing while doing the program?
The conversion program is the pre-registration nursing degrees for overseas nurses. The student visa will permit you to work 20 hours per week and unlimited hours on holidays. And Yes, you can work as an AIN. Actually, you will need to contact agencies and home care centres to verify this. Usually, they would require you to have certain trainings.
I have contacted one agency, and she said I could. Hope that helps.
