Any PHCC January 2011 applicants out there?

Published

Well, my 3.43 and 88 didn't cut it. Big surprise, I know. ;-) So I am retaking PSY real fast this summer to get an A. Here's hoping a 3.69 is enough to cut it, though I'm not holding my breath. I bet passing the proverbial camel through the eye of a needle is easier than getting into NS. :lol2:

Anyone else??

I'm sorry to hear that Chris. I've been laid off twice since January of 09, that's why I decided to get into the nursing field. What kind of work was he in? Not sure how much money he made, but I got my CNA and was able to find work right away in a nursing home. Maybe he can do the same thing to help get money coming in? Of course the CNA process has changed recently so it's not a quick process anymore :(

Hang in there. I went through 3 deaths and 2 layoffs in the past 2 years. At my darkest hour, I decided it was time for a change. I'm working 2 jobs and returning to school. BE YOUR CHANGE!

Oh, and to get back on topic, I got a letter from PHCC today confirming they received my packet, and it is complete and all prerequisites have been met (LPN)

Thanks to you both for the encouragement. He has a bach in religous studies (not limiting or anything ;)) and has been a parochial school teacher, new home superintendent (first lay off), and was recently a supervisor for a uniform supply company that then put him on a route driving a delivery truck. So he is basically looking for anything that will pay the bills. He is a part time youth director and has been for 12 years. But Dave - he loathes blood and bodily fluids. So whereas I am actually trying to get into the bodily fluid industry, LOL, he wants no part of it!

He's really looking and applying so hopefully something pans out. Luckily my hospital is awesome and has let me go almost to full time to try and help us out.

I never, EVER thought I would be actually hoping for a rejection letter for NS. Man, how things change overnight!!!

Still no letter in my mailbox....:icon_roll How about you guys???

Just got mine today. I'M IN!!!!!!!!!

I wasn't expecting anything until the end of October (per PHCC's web site). It was a very welcome surprise.

CONGRATULATIONS!!! See?? We told you you were in!!! Way to go!!! I *think* they send out acceptances first. Hope yours was in your mail today, Fitzy. Nothing here...

I'm new to this site so this is my 1st post. I applied for the RN program for January and just got my letter in the mail today and....I'm IN!!!:D I had a 4.0 GPA and 81.8 on the TEAS so was a little shocked! I'm excited and nervous at the same time. I have 3 kids(8,3,2) so I know its going to be tough but I have confidence that I will get through. Good luck to all those others who have applied!

I am new to this website as well. I just got my letter in the mail too and I'm in!!! (RN) I was pretty shocked also, I really wasn't expecting it... but it happened!!! I'm sooo happy :lol2:!!!! I have a 7 year old daughter, so yes, it will be challenging here too, but we will do it!!!! Congrats to everybody!!!

Congrats to both of you!!! Praise God, my acceptance letter came also today!!!! ALong with the big ol' packet of papers to fill out (I thought that came AFTER you accepted??) I'm going tomorrow to turn my acceptance letter in and hopefully figure out how I can do this if my husband doesn't find work soon. Yay!!! Now it's time to start saving money for December -- and I don't mean Christmas!!!! LOL :yeah:

I got my letter today for the LPN program....I'm an alternate :( I had an 84.7, but live in Hillsborough county---so I know I don't get the extra 5 points or whatever. Do ya'll know what the date is that all the accepted applicants have to say yes or no to their program? Trying to figure out how much longer I have to wait.... Thanks and SUPER CONGRATS to alllllll of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats to you too Chris and good luck!

@ Lilypad22 I have to confirm my seat by October 15th; so probably anytime after that they will be sending out letters again. GOOD LUCK!!!

Thanks nursingstudent0210! I really hope I hear from them :) Also, has anyone dealt with advising at PHCC....any recommendations on which advisor I should ask for? I wanna go talk to them sometime this week about putting in my RN application for the Fall...

Yes, I have... Not to be rude or anything; however, I walked out more confused than I was before I went in.... Good luck though, I do hope you will get answers to your questions :)
