I am currently at Miami Dade College fulfilling prerequisites in order to apply for the Nursing program that starts fall 2009. I'd like to be in touch with other career changers who after getting a bachelor's in a non-nursing field decided to pursue the program at Miami Dade College.
Thanks for your interest!
Yeah Rostata, I'm also going to do full-time generic. I plan to fax over my receipt and seat reservation tomorrow. This means that I will be turning down my seat for the Acclerated option, so if there's anyone out there who just fell short of the cutoff GPA, don't be discouraged...there's at least one more seat coming back to the pool. I can't be the only one who's doing this either.
Hey Teech2Nurse: Congrats, thats amazing! No I'm going into the accelerated program :) We will all still be a family though! I like how I'm out there on here, but I am so to myself and antisocial. LOL! I'm assuming by your username that your currently a teacher??? Takiyah; wow, I'm always very surprised to here people turn accelerated down! I guess generic was your initial choice???? Very happy for everyone!
Hey Mommy'sGirl, I'm actually turning down the accelerated program because I've heard horror stories about trying to maintain a 4.0 GPA within the program. Everyone has said that if GPA is important to you, do not go for acclerated option. With only a 3 month difference, I've decided that the generic program is a safer bet.
GPA is important to me because I plan on going for a very competitive Master's program, so I need to maintain as close to a 4.0 as possible. Also, in prepartation of this program, I need to take a few courses while actually in nursing school. This would prove impossibe with the acclerated option.
