Ooops! I totally misread that...she did mention the name of the facility. That wasn't smart. I still don't think that what she said was really terrible, but once she mentioned the name of the hospital, it was fair game. She should've known better than that.

Personally I think it's crap. If all she said was what you wrote here, I don't see how that can qualify as "bashing" her employer. 90% of nurses are underpaid and most of them will complain about it to each other and anyone else who would listen. She didn't even specifically mention the hospital's name..total crap. Stating what is "common knowledge" is her right...that's like suggesting she should never complain about her chosen profession on social media as long as she is employed because her employer can take an unwarranted, personal offense to it...like I said, she made no mention of the hospital's name...she could've been referring to any place! One word...crap!

Ok, FINALLY able to get results...and I PASSED... Unfortunately, I am the ONLY person who didn't get results from the Dept of Health's website in 24 hours...so I still don't have a license number...have to wait 10 day...sucks.

Took my exam this afternoon and I got the good pop up...not celebrating until I get official results...still nervous...lol. It cut off @ 75...like Tildor, a whole lot of med-surg.

According to my understanding, and what I see in Davis, "no" gelatin is not considered Intake. You only count items that are LIQUID at ROOM temperature. Gelatin will not be liquid at room temperature, but ice-cream is! Get it?:)

GOOD LUCK! I will be praying for you...and everyone on this board, and for myself come next week. My sister has Prentice hall and she getting better averages than me. How does it compare to Davis? Yeah, and I noticed that about Davis too...the wrong answer thing.

What I hate about Davis is that it has waaaay too many SATA. I only take 30 question quizzes at a time and i get anywhere from 8-12 SATA everytime...and I almost NEVER get them correct because of mostly 1 option (I either shouldn't have chosen or should've...mostly the latter). And I feel like some of questions purposely try to deceive you...like a SATA that asked about what to monitor for in an adult patient w/ diabetes, who just had a cast put on for a femur fracture. Not straight up because of course you have to think about their circulatory compromise, which is cool because I saw that right away...but then I selected "vascular necrosis," and got the entire question wrong because, they're explanation was "the patient is at are at risk for avascular necrosis" (yep, and they italicized it and all). There is no such thing as vascular necrosis, so what's the point of that? Just to see if we can literally remember EVERY terminology we were taught? Seriously Funny thing is that I ace the SATA in ATI and Saunder's...Davis is just retarded I tell you. It is not straightfoward for the most part...it literally tries to trick you on most questions. Sorry to ramble :) When did you reschedule to take your exam?

Ok, so I took the "new" ATI...it's really the same exact thing as the 2007/2008 with a few corrections (to answer choices....and actually, I found a mistake that wasn't in the old version, but is in the new one). I re-took the test, and since it was the same thing, my score didn't change...80%. I spent yesterday reviewing Renal and GI, and I got a 87% in ATI, with a 60% & 72% in Davis (I always take two 30 min quizzez in Davis), and a 68% in Saunders (Saunder's isn't THAT easy...hell, the ATI was waaaaay easier in Renal than Saunders....Saunder's has some easy questions here and there, but overall, I think it's comparable to ATI). For GI... Saunders - 75% (60 questions) Davis#1 - 67% Davis#2 - 82% (I exclude repeating questions, so 2nd test is always less than 30 ques) ATI - 80% BTW, warning...Davis is a bit retarded and has quite a few conflicting information when compared to Saunders, so if you REALLY think you were right about something, make sure you check it out because maybe you are according to your text (ie. according to Davis, monthly, self-breast exams are not necessary because the ACA says they have no value, and so you shouldn't tell your patients to perform these. Now, if it came up on the NCLEX, I would have to go with what I was taught, and that it is something you should encourage your patients to do, because Davis is the ONLY one that has this "latest info." ).

Ok, just found my codes. I'll take the 2010 test and let you know how I did. But if you're doing that well on the ATI exams, you will be fine. My friend told me she ONLY used ATI and Saunders (and we know Saunder's isn't really difficult) and she said she felt that the actual exam was easier than ATI. Reassuring sign...

No, I took the old 2007-2008 test. I am trying to figure out how to get the 2010 codes. Did you get them from your school?

Don't worry! I haven't taken my exam yet, but I also have Davis Q and A and you should know that compared to other books, the questionsa are more difficult. I rarely get more than 60% myself, and for not reviewing in so long, I can't complain. Is that the only book you're using? I bought Saunders and it is waaaaaay easier, so I'm mostly using it as a review before taking some Davis quizzes. I am also using ATI and I used to think that was difficult before seeing some of the crap in Davis...it is so much easier now, so I think we will be ok. For example, I took a 30 question quiz on Fluid and Electrolyte / Acid-Base balance in all three today (that's how I'm studying) and got a 66%, 80% and 86% (this one was actually 50 questions) on Davis, ATI and Saunders, respectively. As lousy as my Davis score was, I did really good on the ATI test which is moderately difficult.

Might be a stupid question, but what is PDA? Not familiar with that abbreviation. And everyone keeps talking about "the trick" to see if they pass, what exactly is that? I keep seeing everyone talk about it, but don't see anywhere where some explains how to do it.

Anyone taking it in May? I started reading through this forum, but it's too long and I have to get back to STUDYING...lol. I'm taking mine May 4th (unless I don't feel prepared enough and decide to push it back at the last minute). How is everyone studying? What are you using? How many sections/chapters are you getting through each day? What's your score like on the practice exams (not the comprehensive). I have been using Davis's Q&A (only on test 14 of 48, but so far my scores are in the 60% - 70% 's with the exception of two in which I scored a 54% and 57%) Just went out and bought Saunder's Comprehensive Review (expensive as HELL), for the content since my book didn't have any and going back and forth between notes and ATI for review was taking waaaaay too long. I am trying to get through 5 sections a day (about 200 questions, or a little less)...takes at least 6 hours (I break it up though. I do what I can in the day when my baby is asleep...which isn't much since she won't sleep most times, and then hash is out at night after I put her to bed...unfortunately this means I'm going to bed at 3am or later). Hopefully, if all goes according to plan, I'll be done with Davis's book by next Wed and can spend the remainder of my time taking the Comprehensive exams and reviewing content in Saunders...and maybe some ATI here and there. I can't wait to get this over with! I just want to be a nurse already...and working!
