Im going to start my pre-reqs this in january but was wondering if theirs any mamas who was in the same boat as im am and how many classes you started out with and how you made/make it work, im hoping the school im going to go to has a discounted day care to help out and i can focuse on school since his dad works in the city and does not get home till 4 every day:uhoh3: . Also worried about my lil guy transitioning to not being around me:crying2: for the both of us. i just work a few days a wk now when dad comes home i leave and work 4-5 hrs so hes never been away from both of us. so not only im a nervouse about going back after 7 years im going to have to have my lil guy on my mind. i know this is for the best in the long haul but hes my:redbeathe :(

You may not have a choice if your class is online or not. My Psych class is a hybrid class. We do the work online, and meet once a week in class to talk about it. I wouldn't choose it that way, but that's how it is.

Really?! well ill hope itll pass the class if its online at my school. im just scared since i normally always have questions. plus its fun being around classmate:D

pre reqs are required to get into the program - anatomy, psych, chem, bio. co reqs can be taken with your nursing classes - micro bio, eng 102. take your pre reqs first and get your name on your nursing program list (if theres a wait. i waited for 1 1/2 years!). then take any co reqs so that when you're in the program you can focus on your nursing classes - you'll need it.

also, depending on what your background is, you may be able to test out of some classes. i was able to avoid taking a writing class and i believe a teacher in my class was looking into testing out of the eng class -so check with your school.

there are a lot of moms (and dads) in my class and we've made it to block #4! it has been a very, very rocky road but you can do it! ;)

awesome thanks for the advice:up: and will do!

I am a 32 mother of 3 boys (7, 3, and 1). I recently made a career change from Finance to nursing. I am finishing up on my prereqs this semester. It is tough, but I am sure it will be worth it in the end.

Gi-irl. So know what you're feeling right now. :)

I'm in the Nursing prog now, but I did my pre reqs w/ 2 yr old and full time job, and still got a 3.8 gpa ( all glory to Jesus, honestly.) But I only did part time, no more than 2 or 3 classes at a time.

You can do it. You really can. It does take determination, and I will admit you will miss being able to spend more time with your family, but it's not as bad as you think it'll be. Good luck to you!

I born 11976 and I am taking A&P 1 this semester and A&P 2 along with micro next semester. When I am finished I can apply for the nursing program in the fall of 2012. I also have a child. A son, 5 years old and I work full time. I study at night. I usually go to sleep around 2.30 am. The best time for me. I should be studying for my A&P test in 5 days but here I am writing this.. :)

I just finished the LPN program with an 8 and 4 year old, pregnant the entire time with my 3rd child. I had to deliver my daughter on Friday and return to school on Tuesday! If I can make it ...so can you. Just know that is what you want and don't let anything hold you back. One step at a time is all you can do and it worked for me. I had to figure out how to get my kids to and from school and find the time to study. you can make it work!!!

It'll all work out and he will be fine, little ones have a great way of adapting to change, sometimes better than their parents do! lol I am a mommy of 3 and I'll be 40 in Dec. I currently work full-time 50+ hours a week and my hubby is a SAHD and has been for the last 7 years. It works well for us but i know going back to school will definitely shake things up ALOT in my household. I too worry about juggling everything. But like someone above said, it will be alot easier now when they are little rather than if they are older. That's kind of why I am trying to do it now while my kids are still young and aren't really into extracurriculars and all that yet. I also hope to be in a position (trying to save $) when I am ready to start nursing school in about a year to not work for awhile, while I am in school, so I can really dive in.

Sorry for babbling...You guys will work it out and everything will be fine...all the hard work will be worth it in the end when you are finally a nurse! :)
