Any LPN's making over $60,000 a yr?

Published

I hear so much about the RN's making a great salary with overtime. Just wondering are there any LPN's making a great living too? Please tell me what state you are in too so I can move as soon as I graduate :)

I work for an agency that pays a flat rate of $32 an hour in Philadelphia and surrounding areas for all shifts/facilities. Yes they take out all taxes and no there aren't any benefits so my husband carries those and I make the money. We live right outside of the city so the cost of living is pretty low. I do 1-2 OT shifts a week so I break out about 70k a year before taxes. Hope this helps. You need at least one year LTC experience as an LPN

Are you from Philly? Did you go to school here? If so, Could you tell me where (and rate the program in relation to what you may know about others in the area)?

Thanks

I AM NOT FROM PHILLY BUT i KNOW THAT EPISCOPAL AND 1199C CLOSED THEIR PROGRAMS FOR LACK OF INSTRUCTORS. fROM WHAT I DO KNOW I WOULD RECCOMEND JEFFERSON'S PROGRAM. HOPE THIS HELPS.

I know several LPN's making even more but they are agency or per diem or staff with a lot of OT. I made 44K last year on staff, 40 hr week, almost no OT. ;)

Around here (Detroit area) the LTC facilities advertise all the time for LPNs at $23-27 per hour to start with a signing bonus and full benefits. If you worked 56 hours per week at $25 and got time and a half for the overtime, you would make $83200. The way staffing is around here, picking up two shifts a week in overtime would not be hard.

My GF is a contingent (no benefits) LPN at a LTC facility and gets $30/hr. You could come close to 100k per year at that pay rate if you jammed the OT.

I LOVE OT, it is my safety net in a time of need (or greed)

Where do you work as an LPN? How many years experience do you have?

I work in LTC. 11 years experience.
