I am new to the San Francisco area and am in the process of searching for a new grad position. I have a BSN and am licensed in California but cannot find any area hospitals that are hiring new grad students.
Is anyone else in the area encountering this problem? I need to find something in the nursing field - any suggestions?

Welcome to AN! The largest online nursing community!
California has a 47% unemployment of new grads. It is a challenging market. Many new grads have been looking for almost 2 years.....Nurses Schools, Salaries, and Job Data

Oh yeah, it's a terrible job market in California, and SF is probably the most difficult job market in the entire country, even for the experienced. You would have more luck looking rurally. Look up north of Sacramento in Yuba, try Napa, Sonoma, etc. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
Thanks for the heads-up NickiLaughs - I think I'll head back to Florida where I went to nursing school. There seems to be more new grad opportunities on the other coast!
