Any Filipino RN who passed the June 2006 NLE?

Are there any June 2006 passers here who did not took the retake last December 2006 and are currently working right now in the US as a RN? What are the requirements needed to apply for a VisaScreen? Does it require a local license - a Filipino RN license? I am asking this one because for your information CGFNS just released a statement that June 2006 passers who did not took the retake for the NLE last December would be denied for the VisaScreen application hence, they could not work in the US.
This decision made by the CGFNS is unfair in my opinion. A local license is not required for a BSN graduate to sit and take NCLEX. This is a fact so I just can't understand why CGFNS made a statement such as this one. It's a pity for us June 2006 passers who worked so hard just to passed that exam.
I am just disappointed to the former PNA President for the mess that he did. I just hope that the honest and hardworking June 2006 passers would have justice from all of these fiascos. I just hope that Mr. xxxxxx ill also suffer for what he did. Removing him or suspending him is not enough payment for what he has done.

If you did not take the exam at all then there is no problem.

Problem arise if you took it and did not pass it or in this case took and passed it but deemed not comparable by US Standards. You have to declare all licenses ever held and disclose whatever licensing exam you took.

Remember, you need to provide a valid explanation on why you don't hold a license and failing it or not declaring it (even though you hold one) is not a valid reason and considered fraud as an impt. data was withheld.

The only valid reason that is accepted is the explanation that you did not take the boards because you don't have plans to work in your country of origin and not disclosing that is fraud as explained above.

Also, it's no use to withhold any info such as passing the NLE or having a license, esp. in our country where a list of names of passers are printed for public view in all major newspapers and eventually stored in PRC's website.

what if i retake the exam and failed it? will they issue me the visascreen certificate or not?

If you took the NLE, you have to take it until you pass.

This news is really depressing. However, it seems we have no choice but to retake the exam. Or not take it and be stuck in a situation that we won't be given visascreening. So to get it over with, I think it would be better if i retake the exam again this june rather than find out later that I have to retake it when I have finished everything else. Well that's just my opinion.

Unfair or not, it is a bitter pill to swallow.

It would have been a different story if all nurses who took the June NLE have pressed for a retake but the ones who wanted a retake were vilified in public. These people know the consequenses when things like the cheating are not handled properly as should be done in the US where the issuing agency, CGFNS/ICHP is based. Now, they were right and everybody must suffered.

And there are quite a few that listened and already completed the retake in December and are on their way to getting their Visa Screen Certificate and having no issues.

Same thing that we told everyone to do.

I remember the CGFNS saying not these exact words but something to this effect: "Maybe you can fool Filipino examiners but you cannot fool American examiners," so it was kind of expected that they will come to this decision.

This will probably get resolved in time, as long as there is willingness to re-take on the part of the passers. I think it is the only solution, and not meetings...to meet a "common stand" as PRC chairperson Rosero is saying.

If the 'common stand' is to re-take so that everyone can move on then it will be great but what if it's the opposite as is in the back of the minds of some nursing organizations ?? Can the June 2006 passers really afford to make a stand for a no re-take again ??

And if that will be the stand, do PRC and these so called nursing organization really honestly think they can persuade CGFNS to change their minds ?? Wouldn't this just make things even worst as it is now.

Yes, it would be too bad if the common stand is going to be no to retake. I think June 2006 passers are tired of the one-step-forward, two-steps-back thing. I personally think appealing to the CGFNS (as opposed to just doing what CGFNS wants) will just delay the June 2006 batch yet again.
