I am looking at getting started with Excelsior also, I have read past Allnurses that you can go to Ebay and type in "Excelsior College" and the section under "books" and look for LisaArends notes on a CD (Nurse with a syringe). Everyone passes with these notes they're about $10 a CD with a lot of information to help pass the test. Good luck!

Everyone? They're NOT enough to pass. I used them for one exam and found them to be very light on content.
I didn't buy any additional resources (aside from the practice exams on EC's website). I went on yahoo groups and found many forums with EC study aids (people posted notes from their studying or outlined a chapter ect..) and I used the free study guides to supplement my studying. I also went to my local library and was able to check out 70% of the books I needed to study so that saved me mega $$$.
Akanini,
I have seen that quite a few people are using the Chancelor study guide. Where do you obtain the chancelor study guide from? Or, if anyone else knows, I would appreciate a response. I am reading everyone's notes and taking in a lot of information which will help me decide to pursue Excelsior.
Thanks!!!
Hello!
I completed A&P 1-2, micro, abnormal psych and all of my nursing courses. I am waiting for my CPNE test date now. Which I am really nervous!! Once you get a system for studying it will flow much better. It can be tough but it can be done. I'm proof. I used Distance Learning Systems for my material. It cost more but it was worth the convenience for me. I used flash cards with every course and took them with me everywhere. Hope this helps. :wink2:

I am sure that I am not the first to ask, but everyone's experience here is so valuable.
I am just starting the LPN-RN bridge via Excelsior and got my study guides for the gen ed classes that I am short. I am studying to take the microbiology test now. Anyone have any experience with the information/test? I just would like to be reassured that it is not going to be a horrible test where I am left staring at the screen in total ignorance.
Also, how long did it take to study the material. I am hoping that I can get an idea of what to expect.
I am very excited about this new adventure. And I am terrified!
Thanks to all inadvance.
