Any CSUB Fall 2012 Hopefuls?
You got one here!
Thanks I really do hope they go somewhere else. I just wonder if csub is the only late school that sends out letters late.
Hey there! I am not a applicant to this school but I just wanted to comment. CSUB is not the only CSU that notifies so late; there is the CSU that I applied to (CSUSB) that will not release anything until late July. I thought my school was the only one to send out late acceptances, but upon skimming this thread, I can see that I am wrong.
Anyway other CSUs in the area have already released everything. Luckily those people with the 4.0s already got into other schools. Schools like CSUB and CSUSB are mainly back ups for those kind of people (not that CSUSB and CSUB programs are bad, just they release notifications late). So by knowing that, it should calm a lot of your fears. Also think about this: People that transfer in most likely aren't going to risk paying the deposit or registering for classes if they still do not know if they are in or not. A few people that I talked to said they didn't want to go as far as paying the deposit, attend the schools orientation, and 'register' for fall classes when they will not be accepted to the program until mid summer. You see what I mean. Maybe its different because CSUSB is on a quarter system.
Anyway I just wanted to point that out! You guys are NOT alone. I am going out of my mind waiting for CSUSBs response. July is going to be a long ways for both of us. I just wished CSUSB sent out tentative rankings like CSUB does.
Good luck everyone! I hoped I helped some!
So your saying that the tentative rankings that were sent out might have been of everyone and not just those interested. IF that's the case I am extremely happy. Because I thought it was only the people that were still interested in csub. I know most of the other schools already told their students if they were in or not. So those students called the csub nursing department and told them to withdraw their application. Since we got the tentative standings just yesterday I thought The nursing department would not add them on the tentative standings. I guess they might have. SO the tentative standings might be of everyone qualified not everyone interested. Because I find it hard to believe someone with an 97 on the teas and pertect gpa would work so hard to get into csub. Maybe your right. 13 people got really great teas score so even if half those people decline that would make a whole lot of difference. I still have one class in progress so my ranking might change to 60 if I get an B. I am extremely worried.
anyways I really hope you find out soon. I know how hard the waiting game can be.

Actually you would be surprised to find out that A LOT of people do not withdraw their application. A lot of people just figure that they will get disqualified because of lack of coorespondence or something. If people are not turning in info before the deadline then they are disqualified but if the deadline is like June and your getting rankings in May then those people are still 'in' the application pool but most likely are at a different school. I know a lot of people that applied to my hopeful CSUSB but got accepted at places like CSULA or CSULB. Those applicants are already in somewhere else and probably wait until they are disqualified, but very rarely withdraw their application. I wish they would though
I think that's so selfih. I applied to three Community colleges and two I found out from. The other I called in and told them to take my application out b4 they choose students so the seat would go to someone else. I got accepted to the other two. I just kept one safety CC and declined the other. In this case since I have a saftety school that is an ADN and I am waiting to find out for the BSN. I still plan on declining the CC college if I get into csub. I don't understand people that don't decline when they get into their first choice which is a csu. Why have your application at two schools that offer the same degree. I know people that apply realize that it's very difficult to get into the nursing program. They should keep that in mind and withdraw as soon as possible when they know they aren't going here. Oh well. I know people that go as far as meeting all the deadlines for a school and never notify the school that they changed their mind. I think last year they accepted 57 students when seats available were like 3 more. One of the advisers told me that one students did everything for the program and at the very end never notified the nursing program. That seat could of went to someone else. However, it was too late at that time. So it went to waste.
Hopefully after that email went out this week, people who were no longer interested responded by saying so? Have faith gurjit. Maybe CSUB changed their policy as well to move people up if others decline the spots. My friend in the program right now said that the choose exactly how many students to accept based on money usually.
Congrats:) I dropped from BC. I don't know if my seat went to you or someone else.
Either way I am happy for you.
I regret retaking stats for a better grade. I already had an B. Now I have an 86 percent without the final. I am like so so very scared.
Even without the retake I made the top 60 barely. Now, all I can do at this point is hope for the best. yikes!!!

Hi guysI dropped from the applicant pool last week due to my classes in progress. A family member got sick so I had to file an incomplete for both classes and will finish my finals in the summer. I didn't see the tentative rankings but I hope the best for all of you! I will try for other schools in the spring and possibly Bakersfield in the fall!I will cross my fingers for you :)
