Any Augusta Tech ADN Hopefuls?!?!

Published

Hi Everyone!!! :D

I am anxiously waiting to hear if I have been accepted into the 1st Augusta Tech ADN class starting this fall. I know there are many people who applied, but I personally don't know anyone. Is there anyone else out there waiting for "THE LETTER" . It just seems like such a long time before we find out (end of July) and the program starts the last week of August. It feels like my life is in limbo until I find out, not to mention it is the only school I applied for (I should have listened to the old saying to never put all your eggs in one basket). So is there anyone else out there? I would love to hear about what other schools you applied to or information you know about the program.

(This is my first post on ALLNURSES.COM)

Hey this is for Treetop560, contact Augusta Tech concerning the drug screen if you haven't already. Drug screens are not required for the program because we are not using Trinity.

Thanks parrothead36, I will call tomorrow concerning the drug screen. I haven't got it yet.

I was wondering where you took your nln pax rn at. I would like to take it. I am still finishing up my pre-req for the ADN program. I wont be able to apply till Fall 2011.

Once you apply to the program and finish all your pre reqs, you should be contacted (either by email or phone) regarding the available dates to take the tests. At least that's how it went for me.

Thanks for your help!

Hello, I just moved to the Augusta area and am currently enrolled in another school outside of augusta tech trying to complete my pre reqs. I was wondering if I complete some of the core classes along with my pre reqs will that put me further into the program if Im accepted or should i just only do the pre req classes then stop and complete the rest @ augusta tech.

Right now im enrolled in an associates degree in health science and alot of the classes are the same in the ADN program at Augusta Tech? Will it make my program length shorter to do some now while im waiting for another entrance date?

Hey Candicerc87,

You will not be able to complete the program any sooner by taking core classes. You should just do your prereqs!

I plan to apply for the fall 2011 class. I haven't been to the information session yet and was wondering what counts towards admissions? I know they uses the NLN-PAX score and that there are 10 preadmission courses. Do they grades from ALL of these courses count? Do they take anything else into account? Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!

The grades for A&P 1 and II, Microbiology, Human Growth and Development and may College Algebra. The GPA for these courses count for 80 % of your total grade and the other 20% is your score on the PAX-RN. Make the best possible grades in your prereqs and you will be fine!

A question for the 2010 class. How many actually made it into the program and how many of those are men?

I noticed elsewhere in this thread a mention of 6 classes counting. what are they? the school has been absolutely no help. they keep replying that I need to attend an info session but registration is this week at GMC and the next session is in October! please help so ill know whether to retake certain classes I have Bs in.

40 people were admitted and 4 of them are men.
