Hi Everyone!!!
I am anxiously waiting to hear if I have been accepted into the 1st Augusta Tech ADN class starting this fall. I know there are many people who applied, but I personally don't know anyone. Is there anyone else out there waiting for "THE LETTER" . It just seems like such a long time before we find out (end of July) and the program starts the last week of August. It feels like my life is in limbo until I find out, not to mention it is the only school I applied for (I should have listened to the old saying to never put all your eggs in one basket). So is there anyone else out there? I would love to hear about what other schools you applied to or information you know about the program.

There is actually about 13 prerequisites. They only use 6 of those class to calculate your GPA for entrance. The six classes are: A&P I and II, Microbiology, Human Growth and Development, College Algebra, and I think Psycology. I'm not exactly sure. My brain is occupied with Pharmacolgy now!! It is monsterous! Good Luck!:stdnrsrck:
Treetop, Parrothead, and Vanesia,
Hello! Hope you're all doing well and that your finals are progressing and you're just DESTROYING them!! haha So I know this is not a sure-fire way to do anything, but was hoping you could give me a feel for my chances. I have 4 classes that I could cram in from Jan to Mar and then get my app finished before April. If I did well in those, I've calculated my pre-requisite GPA as 3.36 for all core (six classes plus HUMN, ENG, SOC, etc), or a 3.67 for the six classes Vanesia believed to be the core. Assuming those GPAs, a great PAX-RN score, the fact that I'm a man, and I have clinical experience as an EMT, how well do you think my chances are. I understand it's incredibly competitive and they only took 40. I'm going to talk to the school today and find out as much as I can, but I have to make a choice about taking those classes soon or not. So....not cop-outs. Just give me your opinion! You guys are great and I'm proud of y'all for making it into that first class! God Bless!

Hi BHUSN,
Well as far as your chances with your estimated G.P.A you might be OK. I would advised that you try to make an A in the up coming classes...... but honestly it depends on the people that you competing against. I know that when I applied at least 15 of us had all A's. However, we have a couple people in our class that had at least one C, so it just depends. If this is something that you really want to do....... go for it. Take those classes and have them completed before the deadline. I crammed all my sciences in from Jan to June..... I got all A's, so it is feasible....... Good Luck!!!
Being Vice President of the active class, I would just like all pre-nursing students (those of you actively trying to get into the ADN program at augusta tech) to speak with someone in the nursing department or to me directly about the new student nurses association here at augusta tech. Our organization offers countless contacts who can help you during your admissions process into the program by answering questions, giving you insite into the in an outs of this program, and by holding clinics and sessions that will definitely help you guys trying to apply to this program. Thank you and if you have any questions about the organization feel free to ask one of the instructors at the college how you can further get in touch with me.
