Hi Everyone!!!
I am anxiously waiting to hear if I have been accepted into the 1st Augusta Tech ADN class starting this fall. I know there are many people who applied, but I personally don't know anyone. Is there anyone else out there waiting for "THE LETTER" . It just seems like such a long time before we find out (end of July) and the program starts the last week of August. It feels like my life is in limbo until I find out, not to mention it is the only school I applied for (I should have listened to the old saying to never put all your eggs in one basket). So is there anyone else out there? I would love to hear about what other schools you applied to or information you know about the program.
(This is my first post on ALLNURSES.COM)
Hi Treetop,
That is the same info I have regarding the letters too! I also found out that Orientation is August 13th (all day event) and Augusta 16 (half day). Don't be on pins and needles because I can definitely tell you that because you have all A's in those classes and had a good score on the PAX-RN, you will indeed get a letter! That's factual!!!!
Hi Treetop,
Yes, I could understand the anxiety! But I agree with Vanesia if you had all A's and scored very well on the test, you should be in a good place. So let's all keep praying for those official letters to reach our mailboxes!!!!
Funny thought: At one point I thought my mailman was going to take a restraining order out on me for meeting him at my mailbox EVERYDAY!!!! Just kidding, but that's how bad I have been checking, just thinking that maybe they sent the letters early. So now, knowing that the deadline has come and gone, I will be back out meeting with him by the end of next week!!!
Trust me you guys... do NOT wait for a letter from ATC! I would physically GO to the school and see if you can get any information on your status.
I just had to stand in the line from Hades the other day because they had not finished processing some of my information so that I could begin some needed core classes to finish my RN. I had already made TWO trips to the school to make sure they had what they needed weeks before the deadline. Then when I got there to register it hadn't been taken care of even though I had been assured everything was fine previously!
I went through this same thing with the LPN program. I never received any type of letter despite the fact they said it had been sent to me.
Not trying to overstep my bounds, just offering some friendly advice :).
I hope all of you make it in... and have a great day!
Thanks Pegasus65 for the insight! Believe me , I don't think any of us have been just sitting at home and taking the school's word that the letters are coming. As for myself, I have been in contact as much as possible about any little detail that could have possibly hindered my application / acceptance process. Dotted all the I's and crossed all of the T's. If they asked for it; I made sure they got it! AND ON TIME!!!! Again THANKS!!!!
OMG. So I called Augusta Tech admissions today just to keep up with what's going on with the acceptance letters and was told by the lady who answered the phone that "they were still working on them and should expect a letter in about 1 to 2 weeks". I couldn't think of anything else to say, so I just said thank you and hung up. That is ridiculous.... I'm not sure if she even knew what she talking about or was that the generic answer they give everyone inquiring about the application status.
That was the generic answer they were giving out because they have not gone out yet. Friday should be the day they go out.So look for it by Monday at the latest. Also, yes it is very rediculous that we should even have to wait this long. And yes an acceptance by e-mail would have been easier, but I guess we are receiving other information as well. We've waited this long so a few more days shouldn't kill us, right? Anyway keep the faith that they will reach us by Monday.
Treetop560,
I have to say that I retract that last post. Unfortunately, we are in a position of just not knowing what in the world is going on at the school. I too have been in contact with admissions and the response was similiar. I didn't take it that the lady did not know what was going on, I took it as though they were behind in what they were doing. So to our dismay I guess we will continue to have to wait.

Vanesia and parrothead36,
The official deadline has now passed (it was yesterday). I asked admissions and they said they were gonna try to get the letters out by July 30th. I'm on pins and needles right now. Keep me updated!!!
