Any Augusta Tech ADN Hopefuls?!?!

Published

Hi Everyone!!! :D

I am anxiously waiting to hear if I have been accepted into the 1st Augusta Tech ADN class starting this fall. I know there are many people who applied, but I personally don't know anyone. Is there anyone else out there waiting for "THE LETTER" . It just seems like such a long time before we find out (end of July) and the program starts the last week of August. It feels like my life is in limbo until I find out, not to mention it is the only school I applied for (I should have listened to the old saying to never put all your eggs in one basket). So is there anyone else out there? I would love to hear about what other schools you applied to or information you know about the program.

(This is my first post on ALLNURSES.COM)

Hi Treetop,

Yes, you are right in that we probably will not hear anything until the end of July . Just stay positive and maintain confidence in the fact that we did our best! :yeah:I hope we both get in as well until then we just keep praying :nurse:!!!! If I hear anything I will certainly let you know :coollook:!!!

Hi Treetop560,

Sorry so late but I too am waiting for my letter for the ADN program at Augusta Tech starting in August. I also have all A's in the classes that really count toward your acceptance. I also did well on the PAX-RN. Just to put your mind at ease ...... not many people had all A's and I was told that if the PAX-RN wasn't mandatory, I wouldn't of had to take it because my GPA got me in the door. So although I haven't received the official letter of acceptance, I know it's coming. I too am still anxious to get it though. I also am a second degree seeker. I have a Bachelors too. We will, without a doubt, get into the program, so no worries....... save all your energy for August 23rd and beyond :-)!!! I'm sure the program will be challenging but we can do it. I look forward to meeting you in August ;-)!

Oh and I was told to expect the letter at the end of July!!!! And like you all..... I put all my eggs in one basket but that's okay because we will get into this program... matter of fact, we are already in!!!:-)

Thanks Vanesia,

Your post was very inspiring!!! I was also told that not many people had all A's in the major classes and that if I scored at least a 130 on the PAX-RN (which I did!!!) it would almost guarantee me a spot. Even though I'm confident that I did everything I could to ensure I get in, I still won't be "happy" until I get a letter letting me know I've officially been accepted.

If you don't mind me asking, what was your first degree? I have a BBA in Risk Management. I always wanted to pursue a degree in nursing, but I never thought my grades were good enough to get into a program. I'm sure both of us will receive our letters at the end of this month. Then the next step will be making sure all the other program requirements get completed, background check etc. Now I'm just making sure all my finances are in order, since I will have a pay for this degree out of pocket.

Treetop560,

My first degree is in Criminal Justice. I am a prior police officer. I've always wanted to be in the medical field but always doubted myself. I too have to pay for this program out of pocket. I hate that Augusta Tech doesn't offer loans:down:. That makes it hard for students like us. But where there's a will, there's a way!! :nurse:

Here it is July 14 and still no news! I don't know which was more nerve racking: preparing to take the Pax-RN or waiting to hear whether or not we got into the program? Well I guess we will just have to continue to wait. I was wondering whether or not this long wait will have an impact on the students who do get in, as far as having their immunizations up to date and the various exams and background checks done by the time class starts? Oh well, just thought I'd get that out. OMG my anxiety level is so high right now!!! I would just like to know if anybody else has heard anything.

Hi Parrothead36,

You are not alone. I too am anxiously waiting to hear something. I think this waiting period is far more nerve wrecking than taking the PAX-RN. I do have a great feeling about my acceptance though. I guess I will worry until it's official. I do know that August 16th is the day that they will have orientation for the program. I also heard it is an all day event so clear your schedule. I'm sure they will tell us about the vaccinations and supply list at that time. The moment I get my letter I will definitely post the GOOD NEWS on this thread. Please let me know when you get yours. ;)

I know how you feel. I'm nervous too. The deadline for transcripts isn't until July 21st so we won't hear anything until after that date but before the end of July. I was also told that with our acceptance letters there will be a letter stating to come to the school and pick up a package with all the information we need about immunizations, some program info, etc. I hope it gives us a list of items we need to purchase too. Well, good luck to both of you. I too will post news of the letter (good or bad) once I receive it.

Vanesia and treetop 560 can you guys contact me via my personal email it should be in your contacts. Thanks

I most definitely will. Once I locate your email address I will send an email to your personal account!

Okay, I just searched for your personal email address and was unable to find it. I actually didn't see a forth tab that says contact info under your profile. I'm going to put my email address under my contact info.

I couldn't find your email either.

I just posted it to my contact info.
