Also waiting to hear if I will be going to COT in January )
Very cool, where are you guys from? What's your story? :) I think it would be great to kind of get to know you before we get there! Another girl from my graduating class and I are both (hopefully!) going to be at the Jan COT.

I'm waiting to hear too!! I finished my packet at the end of July...waiting sucks!!
I've been a nurse for 3 1/2 years doing med/onc and med/surg. I did one travel assignment, then settled for staff in Florida while waiting to get into the Air Force. I'm an Air Force brat, so I'm kind of from everywhere!! :) I'm hoping for Keesler AFB. Where's everyone hoping to go?? Good luck to you all!!
I'll be going to a reserve unit at Pope AFB in Fayetteville, NC. I am a former Marine, military brat that has lived many places from NC to D.C. to Hawaii and Okinawa. I have been a nurse for 7 years, all ICU/ED/trauma and now flight nursing at a level II trauma center.
I started this process close to 2 years ago, so I am really not making any definate plans at this point, lol. Just happy to be closer to getting my commission.
Very cool. I just graduated and am now working for a semester as a school nurse at my old high school, which is a trip! I was mistaken for one of the high schoolers at first, but I no longer get stopped in the hall for tardy sweep anymore, lol. I'm hoping for Peterson/AFA. I've always wanted to live in CO. I know my chances are pretty slim, though, with such a small hospital. Next would be Travis. But pretty much as long as I don't get Nellis, I think I'll be happy!
Hi,
I'm a new grad from MA. I'm hoping to go to Andrews in MD (though I've heard this may be turning into a clinic), the USAF Academy in CO, or Lackland in TX. I don't have much experience as a nurse and am hoping the NTP program will help me develop my skills even further. Right now I work at a nursing home. The residents are very nice however I don't get to practice alot of skills besides passing PO meds ;o). Anyway good luck everyone let's all keep our fingers crossed. Hopefully we will be bumping into one another in Alabama in a few months!

I graduated this past May and have been talking to my area AF Healthcare Recruiter since July. Gathered all my paperwork and got my application together and sent by the end of August. I've got a face-to-face with the recruiter tomorrow. I might be looking at January COT. We'll see. I still have a lot of questions to ask, etc, etc. I'm 37 so this is interesting. I'm looking forward to tomorrow.
Have you done MEPS and your interview yet, BartC? It sounds like this is your first face-to-face with your recruiter, am I wrong?
You got it, this is the first one. He's in Nashville and I'm about 3 to 4 hours away. We've talked on the phone pretty extensively. He's coming down to Huntsville, AL to pick up someone who's going to the Chief Nurse interview, so we're kind of meeting half way. He requested early on that my wife come along to the meeting because his words were, "It's not just you joining. You're family is joining too." So that has put me at ease.
And no I haven't done MEPS or the interview yet.
