Antelope valley fall 2015!

Published

Hello all! I been following this forum for awhile and I have always found a lot of good information on here... I thought I would start a forum to reach out to anyone who may be applying to AVC for fall of 2015. I know we may be finding out in May. How does everyone feel about this? I know that stats requirement may of helped people that already had the the class done a small advantage. IF I get in, I'm concerned about whether or not I should work or not. I'm full time at a mortgage company which I know I would definitely have to leave... Does anyone know how to get on with a medical based job without any CNA, or medical assist license? Or if chanes of getting a job in that field are even likely with no licensing.

Karen just got back to me I'm number 90 on the wait list :( not sure how long that's going to take

Yeah. They're gonna start for spring soon I believe. And they're point based. Mainly on your gpa and teas score. They only take the first score FYI.

Thanks nature! Good luck to you as well!!!!

What did you ask her specifically? I'm gonna email her too since she couldn't tell me in person..

I just asked her for an update and like how it works she wasn't too clear but said this:

Hi Julie:

A percentage of students who had the highest number of points based on the new multi-screening criteria (points system) were given first priority for admission in the fall, followed by a percentage of students who were on the "first-come, first-served" list.

At the present time you are #90 on the waiting list; however, please understand that this is not a good indicator of an admission date because the priority for admission will continually change. It is not possible to determine when you will be admitted because we accept enrollment packets on an ongoing basis and there will be another screening after September 1, to determine the priority for admission in spring 2016.

I asked her if I will continue to move up on the wait list though, that's all that matters is that they won't forget about me lol

Thats how i feel! Like should i tell them to throw all my info away and just start over to compete with all the new applicants haha

Yeah seriously people definitely get an upper hand with that point system :/

For sure.. & like ppl that already applied are kinda stuck in limbo unless they're #1-20 but even then who knows..

Yeah :/ how many do they take each semester 60?

I thinks it's only 40 students..
