Hi I am a Adult NP and would like to gain family credentials go as well. I think I have to go through a post masters cert program? Is that right? Can anyone recommend an online program?

I've heard good thing about UMASS. The problem is it's on line and I'm not a fan of that.

The Southeastern Louisiana University program is 100% on line, aye Dios Mios! Que lastima! The program is not dependent on others taking the course. The person I spoke to said that quite frequently the class has only one student and has never had more than three students at one time.

The course being online makes me feel like a Christian Scientist with an appendicitis though.

Wow. I wonder if they changed the curriculum. I had contacted them a year ago and the woman that answered the phone noted that I was calling from another state on caller ID and indicated that this would make the program impossible to complete. Thanks for the update.

EDIT: I see on the website that the didactic courses are online but all clinical hours must be completed in the State of Louisiana.

Specializes in Cardiac, Home Health, Primary Care.

I have sever BSN classmates going to University of Southern Alabama for their DNP. I'd assume it's mostly online considering we are about 4 states away lol. Anyway maybe they have a post masters cert??

Hey Kitty - there are ways to get an employer to pay for the training. If you are interested let me know. You work, get paid and they pay for it. It's a pretty sweet deal :)

@drlinderman - how about sharing these tips? In my neck of the woods, no hospital is paying for much anymore
