Hi! I am about to graduate in May & plan to take the ANCC certification examination.
I was wondering if anyone has taken this exam this year yet? I was curious how long it takes to get the authorization to test after graduation?
Also, any advice on books to look at for cultural topics and other non-clinical topics?
I took the APEA review in January and have read over Fitzgerald review book, & Leik book.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance!

Awesome! Thank you! How long did it take you to get the authorization to test?
Looking forward to your advice!

One week after they received the official transcripts. The ANCC does everything electronically and the AANP mails the ATT letter. FYI... I passed the AANP YESTERDAY, but since I paid for both exams I will still sit for the ANCC. This site has really helped! If you haven't already, start looking at post of folks that have passed the exams. I plan to post my entire study plan after I take the ANCC.
Oh read Leik from front to back. Also if you can... take her live webinar!
Wow! Congratulations!! How exciting!!
Please post & let me know when you do about your study plans & habits for ANCC!
I graduate May 7th & have mailed everything needed except of course the official transcripts!!
Thank you so much!!!
I have the like book & have read the majority of it. What other books did you use for study material?
Thank you and you are very welcome. I also used the 4th edition ANCC Volume 1 and 2 review books. I have Fitzgerald as well. I found her book very detailed, a little too detailed for the actually exam but good for practice. I did not finish Fitzgerald's book. I referenced her book here and there.
In addition my school provided an ANCC review course. I also took the on-line Leik webinar review just last week. Excellent review!
Although passing the AANP has broken the ice. I am still nervous. I hear the ANCC is mainly non -clinical.
I will most definitely keep you posted. I know how nerve racking this can be.
Thank you! I look forward to hearing from you!
i looked into Leik review course & they've already filled up or are not until fall í ½í¸³
Did you feel like the review manual she gives is similar to Leik book I already have?
Thanks
Oh no! I hear the Hollier review is good as well. Also check out this link:

Totally different! Nothing but the facts! Leik covers each page and the practice exams that are in the "Family Nurse Practitioner Board Certification Review Guide" . Leik also presents a ton of DERM, Cardiovascular, and Musculoskeletal slides.
Aww man.. I wish there was a way to buy that review book without taking review course!
I took the APEA hollier one in Jan. I had to take it then for class.
Thanks!!
