I'm starting Anatomy and Physiology in January, though I'm taking a Human Biology course in the fall. Do you think it would be too early for me to get one of the coloring books or flashcards and start looking through them/coloring? It might help in HumanBiology, at least.
Opinions?
Thank you very much! :redpinkhe

I don't think it's a bad thing to start early. When I took anatomy flashcards and coloring books helped me a lot. Especially with anatomy, since visual learning is the way to go. Taking human biology prior should help you with your A&P. Good luck!
Thanks! =) I'll probably pick one up once my two hellish (I'm taking statistics and sociology in a four-week block and a five-week block at the same time) classes are over. I'm also getting CNA certified this summer too, so maybe knowing a bit of A&P would help with that, too. =)

Hmm, honestly I would wait on the coloring book and color it as you learn the different systems. I would go ahead and start learning to identify things using a book, but I'd wait for the coloring. The coloring book really helps with the little details that you may forget by January. I would start to learn bigger things like the bones, muscles, etc out of a text book. Just my opinion.

Id learn the bones, muscles, vital organs and locations before the class, it will take a lot of pressure off

Okay well I have a question. I start A&P I mid August and I have been looking for these coloring books for when I start. Where can you find them, and what do you recommend?

You can find the coloring books at Barnes & Noble. Saw them there yesterday when I was browsing.

I'd buy the flash cards and hold off on the coloring books. They can get confusing until you learn the basics. Also the Cliffs notes Study solver for A&P has been a really helpful tool for me personally.

i bought my anatomy coloring books a few months before i took A&P1, it helped me tremendously. I used it when taking A&PII. I would highly recommend it if you are a visual learner. one tip though, make copies of the pages you want to color, that way you will always have a clean book and you can transport the page. I sometimes made notes on the pages i colored, this is why i say to make copies.
Good Luck!!
Mixed results...hmm, I think I'll get the coloring book and maybe use it as a "treat" - AKA, I study for my current classes for an hour and can have fifteen minutes browsing through the book and starting to learn everything. I'll consider the flashcards, too - one of my friends has said that they've helped her a lot.
Thank you guys very much!
