anatomy and physiology 2 & microbiology

Published

i am reg. for spring 2012 classes and im taking the rest of my preq. classes that i need in order to get into the nursing program.

i so far enrolled in anatomy and phy. 2, both math classes i need and phil.

so the last preq. i need is micro and i can take it in summer but idk  if its better just to take them all together so that way in summer i can have a break and get ready for fall 2012 when i start the nursing program?

what do u think is best. has anyone ever taking both with that amount of other classes also?

I don't suggest you take micro and A&P 2 together if you don't have to. You can still apply to schools while completing your final pre requisities. Microbiology is no joke to to tackle that with A&P 2 ... you don't wanna risk a bad grade just because the workload is heavy.

Now if you can handle it.. then by all means. But I would do them separately. Theres nothing like having microbiology fresh in your brain prior to starting a rigorous nursing school schedule.

Just my opinion.

I took them together with chemistry and ended up having to drop chem and take it in the summer. I was able to do ap2/micro fine but there was no way I'd have come out of them both with As if I had another classes (especially 3 other ones) at the same time.

I took micro and physio at the same time (spring 2011)... got B's in both... and took anatomy just prior during a short session, also got a b...

i think its contingent on whether you want to drag things out or get acclimated to how fast paced nursing school/nursing career will be.

For me personally, I'd try and avoid it. I enjoyed micro a lot. I thought the material was interesting, but my prof and lab TA were great at explaining subject matter clearly and interestingly (corny humor and simple, relatable analogies went a long way in helping understand everything). My AP2 prof was also really good, but the material is pretty tough and requires a good amount of conceptual thinking. If you think you can handle both of those, plus the other classes, then go for it, but others were right. You still have time to take it even if you've already applied.
