  1. A 200+ page syllabus would freak me out too! I start on the 26th and am excited, nervous, anxious at the same time. I think its because we've worked so hard and now that we've finally gotten in its surreal. I've gotten tons of advice from a million people that have gone through it or are going through it... All they keep saying is stay organized, don't get overwhelmed and its very doable if you dedicate yourself to it. No turning back now! Good luck to all us newbies~~~~
  2. Congrats @friendlyelse seems like we were in the same boat! lol
  3. I just got accepted!!!!! I was wait listed an I received a phone call today saying that I go in!! God is so good to me! can't wait to meet you guys so we can all go on this journey together. We've all worked hard to get to this point. I'm shaking I'm so excited. I've read your posts and clearly I have a lot to do before I begin! but still enjoying this moment!!! Whoooooo hoooooo
  4. I was waitlisted =( Congrats to everyone who got in and hopefully I can join you. Crossing my fingers.
  5. didn't realize PACE University has a Spring admission for there CDP Program? Is that strictly at the Pleasentville Campus or is that in NYC as well?
  6. This class is clearly not a joke. Just had a crazy midterm and an even more insane lab practical. What's interesting to me is that I actually am enjoying the material. Hated Chemistry, A&P is cool, but Micro is soooo interesting to me! Bacteria, genetics, DNA just the core of everything is great to learn about. Now if I could just pull an A for both exams I'll be overjoyed. Kinda wished I took it during a longer semester; the summer is BRUTAL!!! but at least I'm enjoying what I'm learning. Good luck to all my future nurses, We're in this together!!
  7. OMG Congrats kayruhh :yeah: You are the reason why people shouldn't give up!! 6 times is alot Did you change anything this time?
  8. Wowww kayruhh !! cudos to you for not giving up!! If you want it badly enough I know you'll get in. 6th times a charm Such a great story cndn_grl08!! and congrats on almost being done. I too agree that nothing easy is usually worth it so cudos to you the second time around. For those of us in the process of applying or almost applying any advice cndn_grl08 since your almost done? And realistic advice... no sugar coating how hard it actually is. Of course any medical profession is hard but I've heard horror stories of depression and people going crazy... Thanksssss
  9. We're all here going for the same goals. We're all taking pre reqs, making sacrifices, volunteering, studying like crazy and doing whatever it takes to have all of our ducks in a row to even meet requirements to apply... Realistically we all can't get in but that doesn't mean we all won't get in. I wanted to start a thread of the realities of this field from what I've learned. Because even if you have a 3.8gpa, volunteer 3 days a week, go to all the open houses, do amazing on the entrance exam you still may not get in.. and it has absolutely nothing to do with you... It's the nature of the beast! for those who feel crushed...Keep applying!!! your time will come and if you want it bad enough it will happen no matter how long it takes. Feel free to tell your stories for those students who feel defeated... it could be a great thread to keep spirits up.. Ok back to my flash cards for Microbiology =)
  10. Congrats to all of those who've been accepted to PACE accelerated program. Interestingly enough alot of people when applying to Nursing schools tend to forget to research the NCLEX pass rate for that school. I looked into it and noticed that PACE nyc location only had 5 students take the NCLEX. 4/5 passed however it caught me off guard that by the end of the program only 5 people were able to even take the exam. How difficult is this program at PACE in nyc?? I know there intake is small but I'm sure its more than 5 people. Good luck to everyone thats been accepted and stay strong.
  11. cool jocy_anne. congrats in getting into a BSN_MSN program. what school did you get into.
  12. I'm taking Micro this summer and am excited yet terrified. It's my last pre requisite so I'm gonna knock it out! Guess I was scared and saved it for last lol Good luck fellow future nurses!! =)
  13. I'm hoping I get into Pace also. I def don't have all A's but my science pre requisites are very strong. My undergrad degree GPA is pretty high also. I've heard mixed reviews about the program tho from past posts. Hopefully things have changed for the better. 12 months is a VERY short time to complete a Nursing degree so I'm sure its intense but it'll be worth it. Has anyone spoken or is someone that completed or is in the program? that would be great to get some insight. Good luck everyone!!!
  14. Still waiting and hoping for the best.
  15. Congrats on being accepted! when did you apply? How did you find out you were accepted?
