Hi I am looking for an A&PI online class so I can begin taking my prereqs for nursing school. Can anyone recommend any that start soon and end before May?

UNE offers online courses that can be started at any time and completed as fast as the student is able: http://www.une.edu/com/online

Edukan has another start date coming up soon and you finish May 6. Cost is reasonable even if out of state.

CCCOnline.org is based through Colorado community colleges. You have to chose a "home college" which will hold your transcripts. I chose Colorado Northwestern Community College. Good Luck! I took all of my sciences there, its so helpful.

Have you taken either the physiology or microbiology course through UNE? I'm considering taking them, and wanted to hear your opinion. Are they well organized? Do you feel like they give you a solid background on the material? Thanks!
Just started the anatomy course. Well organized. The online lectures are excellent. Discussion by other students indicate that the exams are straightforward. Will be looking at taking micro next when I get the money.

Just curious, but are online science courses accepted for nursing school?
For the most part, yes. Most schools list them on your transcript just like any other course. There is no way to distinguish an online course from the others. If you have any questions, you should verify with the program that you are entering whether they will accept certain courses, or not, before you take the courses.

That's a good point about how the courses are listed on your transcript.

Also consider Clovis Community College, the tuition for out of state is VERY cheap. its like $250.00 for six credits. Very organized and REALLY friendly.... Also in the summer the Central New Mexico Communty College has a "sale" and also has 6 to 7 credits for about 300.00... total.... they had micro last summer...
Just FYI

I went to St. Petersburg college, took A&P 1 online andmicrobiology. Not hard, just have to keep with with coursework.

In my research I've consistently found many such courses combine the lecture and the lab portion under one course designation. This can pose a problem for those nursing schools particularly concerned with a student's competency in the performance of lab work, and thus require the lab portion to be a separate course entirely. This has narrowed my choice of nursing schools in the tennessee area considerably. UNE seems like a great choice, they're just very pricey, as I wish there were more schools online that had similar offerings. If anyone's taken coursework at UNE, I'd appreciate any info on if their financial aid was helpful or not. Thanx.
