Does anyone have any good sites or other resources that helps with identifying bones and tissues? Any tips or recommendations for passing lab practicals would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance for your help and advice.
They have no open lab time for you to go and work with/practice with the specimens, models, or whatever your school uses? That really is a shame!
No! And most of the time the lab rooms are locked! And we are not allowed in w/o a teacher present. Lol
i think they may have a bag of bones in the library I'll check tomorrow.
thank you.
Have a cemetery near your house?
Kidding!
While nothing will be a good substitute for holding the actual bones in your hands, there are some good apps for iPad that give you a 3D view of the skeleton. Look up Visible Body, is the one I used when not in open lab.
However, bone markings are another story, you really need to be able to touch and feel the bones to recognize a lot of them.

Lol, I wish there was a cemetery that would make A&P so much easier.
We had a long lab yesterday and I was able to use my iPad to record all the bones as I pointed out the landmarks. As I touched an area I would name it, I then saved them all in subfolders (of anatomy) on my iPad. This has helped a lot Because I have a recording of the actual bones that will be used for the practical.
Here's a great website with anatomy quizzes:
I agree with the lab time. I know it's hard because my school is the same way about teachers having to be in the lab with you. All of my bones tests were verbal. I took pictures of the bones, and that helped a lot. So I would say try that. My teacher allowed us to tape him with our cellphones as he pointed to each bone. See if your teacher is willing to do that. Good luck. I miss A&P 1. Although I still have the same teacher for A&P II, the material is not nearly as interesting.
