One of the things that our college had built in was after your first semester of nursing program you were given a cna certificate, but there was a test to take. The high school here is also doing a cna class for those interested of course this is Idaho. I guess maybe your best bet may be to talk to the nursing homes, maybe the hospital, or other cnas.
In GA we have the Hope Grant that will pay for certificate and Diploma programs. I'm taking my CNA course through my local Community College. Google - CNA traning in your state. A millon thing will probably pop up. I have also found that some of the hospital's will offer PCT training.
Best of luck:balloons:
hi karen . . . usually after you successfully complete your first semester of nursing school the nursing director can send for a nursing assistant certification for you. i would talk to your nursing instructors. if they don't offer that were you attend then they probably will know where you can go and take the course. also, most hospitals do offer the class free of charge . . . hey! they even give you a job!!!!!!! happy nursing and best of luck to you in school.:)
