AMN in San Diego?

Does anyone have an opinion on this company? Thanks in advance.

Specializes in ER, Pedi ER, Trauma, Clinical Education.

I am currently with AMN (who owns American Mobile, Preferred Healthcare, Nurses Rx, Medical Express, and O'Grady Peyton) and haven't had any troubles. I originally started travelling with American Mobile, then switched brands to Preferred Healthcare when my recruiter moved. I have only had a couple of minor glitches, and they have been really quick to fix them. Plus, they have offered free private housing the entire time, while cross country just started doing that at the beginning of this year. AMN usually, not always, has higher pay rates for areas than other national companies. AMN also works with hospitals that are all JCAHO accredited. My friend who was with cross country, was placed in a non JCAHO facility, and didn't know it until it was too late. I found out that AMN had pulled their contract from that facility a long time ago because of all of the negative feedback they had received from their traverlers and the facility's ultimate loss of their credentials. The AMN housing is nice, in good areas, and the benefits package is good. I don't have any complaints about the company, and have recommended them to several people.

I am also traveling with AMN. I have had a few minor problems as well but they have always been fixed right away. If you go with them tell em I reffered ya :)

Gotta agree with the above 2 posters, I am with American Mobile right now and like them. There were some glitches when I first started, but things got taken care of quickly. The pay rate is lower than with some other companies, but they are very dependable and have contracts all over the place, even some smaller towns.

I'm with AMN. Yes, they do place you in nice housing and they have nationwide contracts. However, there is no perosnal touch.A lot of them are like that.

I did not go with AMN because they offered me $20. per hr less for the same job than another agency did. Lots of agencies pay better than AMN and their affiliates do.

Hi, I am new to travel nursing and could you tell me which reputable agency besides AMN should I try. I have heard many horror stories from travel friends also

Thanks

I hear good things about Novapro and On Assignment. Think about what you want and see which company out there can meet your needs. Good luck.
