Hi everyone! Quick post- just wanted to give back to the community...when I was looking into various FNP programs that both fit my budget and had a challenging curriculum, American Sentinel was one of the schools that I looked into. Unfortunately, although I could find decent information regarding their RN-BSN program, there wasn't much about their FNP program.
It took me months of speaking with them, going through the catalog and finally occurring to me to look at the profiles of NPs on LinkedIn that graduated from American Sentinel to make a final decision. So, even though I don't start my first class until February 17th, I thought I'd just throw this out there in case anyone has questions later on as I progress through the program?

Thanks for all the great info on this program. Does anyone know how long the NP Program is at American Sentinel?
I was told 28 months for FNP
That's good. Have you started yet? If so how is it going?
I start 1/18/21. I’m taking the required statistics right now (apparently I didn’t take it in my BSN program).
I’m hoping to make some connections before hand so we can support each other. I still need to get my books but I’ve been focused on this stat class.
I wonder if there is time for me to start in Jan. I will call tomorrow I have been looking at a local school where I live and it is so expensive. Then I was looking at Walden University and you have on campus days and I live in CA. Way to far. American Sentinel was on CA boards website as approved, so only started looking into it yesterday. I will keep you posted. Yes, Supporting each other would be great.
Walden was going to be close to 50K so it was not an option for me. Sentinel is accredited and much cheaper. Hopefully the faculty are good. Definitely call them tomorrow. The admissions staff were very helpful.
I start in two weeks pathophysiology. The school is about 45k including taxes. Fortunately American sentinel works with my employer to have my FNP paid for. I’m very appreciative for Kaiser Permanente.

I agree, Walden was not a good fit for me and too expensive. Just finished my application except for my resume, which I will update and submit tonight. I asked for January start date.

I did my application and had my transcripts sent over, spoke to one of the advisors yesterday and I received my degree plan. If you are interested, go ahead and do your application.
Also, if anyone is a veteran or active-duty military spouse, you qualify for the military tuition. There is also a Nurse Appreciation Scholarship if you have been a nurse for 10 years or more.
That's great you and Virginia will start in Jan. I will keep you posted on my application. It would be awesome to start with you both.

You will also start NP in Jan. 2021 gtrebyari's?
Gtrebyari: I need to look at my payment schedule. I didn’t think it was anywhere near that price but I am getting a discount for being a nurse greater than 10 years. Hmm. You are very fortunate with your employer. Mine does not offer any form of tuition reimbursement. I can’t wait to hear what you think of patho as you will be halfway through by the time Christine, Dina and I start.
Looking forward to staying connected with all of you!
