American River College Fall 2016

Published

Hello everyone! Thought I'd start a thread for everyone who is also applying to American River College for Fall 2016. We can help each other stay updated with any news, I know it definitely helps me through this long waiting period! We can also share knowledge if anyone has any questions about the application process! Good luck to all :)

You would have gotten a rejection letter. So or another. Keep checking.

I haven't heard anything either....:(

were you accepted by SCC or ARC?

I believe they said it was SCC.

Does anyone know if arc or scc send out the acceptance letters all at the same time? I got my application qualified from arc weeks ago but haven't heard anything since from either school. And seeing that people got accepted into sac city already makes me nervous. This is my first time applying.

Sac city sends their acceptance emails out first, at least in the past forums that I have read, we probably won't hear anything from ARC until the 8 weeks from the close of the app period

I have not seen any news regarding ARC, just acceptance from SCC. So I think it's safe to assume they are on their own schedules.

As far as I know they don't. It's two completely different schools. Are you checking your gmail? They send it to your school email. Unless you have it where it transfers automatically to your personal. I believe arc hasn't sent anything out yet. At least I didn't get anything.

I checked my emails and still nothing from scc. Automatically I am going to assume I didn't get accepted. í ½í¸ž But it is my first time applying.

SCC usually does send their acceptance letters out before ARC does. That being said, expect that ARC will also send their notices within a few days, given that SCC has now sent their acceptance letters. If you have applied to both programs, and you were accepted to both, their response window overlaps so you aren't stuck saying "yes" to one while still wondering about the other. Another thing to remember is that these programs sometimes have students that need to be "rolled back" through the 1st semester. Those students can be fit into a class on a space available basis. If the programs didn't get enough students accepting the offer to attend their program for a given semester, they'll first fill those remaining seats with students that need to go back through. If there are still seats left, then they fill from alternates, if there aren't enough alternates (I doubt this has ever happened) they'll do another round of sending out acceptance letters.

In any event, since SCC has sent out their acceptance letters, pay close attention to your email inbox and spam mail. They'll send those letters to your losrios.edu email account. ARC letters should be coming along very soon. Also pay very close attention to the cut-off dates contained in those letters. You must respond "Yes" or "No" to the letters by the date given. If you do NOT respond, they'll consider that as a "No" and you will not attend their program.

Last year SCC found out around the same time and ARC didn't send anything out until 2 weeks later...sadly I think we might have to wait the same amount of time. I think since the date for the LVN-bridge to RN application period just closed, depending on if any applied...they will have to add those people into the pool as well if they are qualified.

@Kristen.Rose....Last year SCC sent out their emails April 14th.....ARC sent out their acceptance through email on April 28th..... so, April 25th is VERY Likely to be the day they send out the emails. AS for the LVN to RN...that does not pertain to 1st semester acceptances as they would be joining 3rd semester, not first.
