American River College Fall 2016

Published

Hello everyone! Thought I'd start a thread for everyone who is also applying to American River College for Fall 2016. We can help each other stay updated with any news, I know it definitely helps me through this long waiting period! We can also share knowledge if anyone has any questions about the application process! Good luck to all :)

@Kristen.Rose....Last year SCC sent out their emails April 14th.....ARC sent out their acceptance through email on April 28th..... so, April 25th is VERY Likely to be the day they send out the emails. AS for the LVN to RN...that does not pertain to 1st semester acceptances as they would be joining 3rd semester, not first.

Thanks for the info :) I just don't want to get my hopes up about hearing sooner and then it take longer....so stressful waiting!!!

Regarding Sac. City, do you only receive a status change if you get in? Does anyone know?

And maybe not even then! I got the email (5pm Friday) saying that I got in at Sac City, but my SCC status on the e-services website still reads "Application Received". My status at ARC has been "qualified" since 3/17.

This morning I received the official email saying I was not selected in the lottery to attend the SCC program. Fingers crossed for ARC or Sierra. Congrats to all who made it into SCC!

I am also waiting for Sierra and ARC!!

Friday I got my acceptance letter from Yuba ❤️

Do you know (or anyone), if you didn't get 70 points would it still say application qualified?

This same exact thing happened to me! I was in total shock that I couldn't apply. Extremely frustrating.

Last semester when I applied for ARC my application was qualified at 70 points. When I received my rejection email they said that I was at 75 points because I did not claim my CNA cert(which I do not have).

I'm not sure about Sac city though... wishing you luck!

To raise your points consider retaking the TEAS or apply for your AS... Many times students don't even know that they are qualified to receive a degree. All these prerequisites count for something :)

I applied last time with 70 points, they only granted 65 my application said qualified but they send me a rejection letter stating since my transcript didn't have my degree posted yet my AS that those points didn't count.

I hope they haven't finished sending out those letters yet. I am also expecting an acceptance letter from them for this semester.

Called the department and had my letter re-sent... I'm in too!

If you are apply to ARC the cut off is 70 points. I was applying before with a score of 55. application said qualified, but that didn't mean that I was in the random selection pool. I applied with 55 points two semesters. Later on I read on the ARC nursing website the information for the previous few years of how many applicants applied, how many points they had, and what the cut off point was. The ARC website says top 1/3 of applicants will be placed in the random selection pool, but for the past few years if you look at statistics on the Website, the cutoff was always at 70 points. So after finding this out I knew the only way to get into the pool was to raise my points. Finished college and got my AS Degree and I retook the teas test a second time. Those two things raised my points from 55 to 80 points. If you are applying with less than 70 points I advise you to look into raising your points and not waste time like I did. Cutoff is a 70 points.
