I haven't been to any of the Multicriteria meetings on the new application process for American River College but I have a question:
If ARC is selecting students from the top 30% of applicants and automatically giving top 30% spots to those who have applied 5 or more times, does this mean that the top 30% will be made primarily of those who have applied 5 or more times?
Does it mean that you need an even higher score to be put in the top 30%/one is less likely to get a spot in the top 30% based on the multicriteria score? Or is it the top 30% of the multicriteria scores AND 5+ time applicants are included in the selection pool?
I hope some of this makes at least a little sense :)
Don't worry. If you've been extended an "accepted" letter from one of the programs, you're in unless you miss something that they require before certain deadlines. They will give you those. As to the BOGW, as long as the "expected contribution" is about 1100 less than about a 17,500 baseline, they'll approve you. There's 3 ways to qualify for it, and as long as you meet ONE of those, you'll be good to go. That expected contribution number is derived from your FAFSA application. That's why they require you to fill it out, even if you won't qualify for any other aid. I certainly don't qualify for most federal grants and loans... I have way too many college units (and a Bachelor's Degree).

milomama,Sorry we couldn't make it work out! I wish you the best in school and in nursing!
I hope you got my email but I don't think it went through when I looked at my sent messages just now.
We tried! Oh well! Good luck to you too and I'm sure we will see and meet each other! You are in fact, "an old friend." LOL! Thanks again!
