I have been out of nursing school for one and a half years now. I am preparing to retake the NCLEX ( I took it once and did not pass). I used KAPLAN last November and was not confident enough to sit for the exam again, so I picked up a copy of Suunder's, since I heard so many people had great success with it. I am currently working a part time, lame, low paying job that has nothing to do with the medical field, since I cannot get a medical job, and I barely have enough time or energy to focus on the Saunder's text. When I do, I get lots of the questions at the end of the chapters incorrect! I sometimes feel as though I will never get out of this rut that I am in. Am I alone in this?!

No Hun, you are not alone in this...Sometimes, it's easy to just give up...things could be worse init? But thankfully and hopefully it is not...so just move along-move along...Take it ez.

You are definitely NOT alone! I look at the NCLEX review books as a LEARNING TOOL. I just read and understand the RATIONALES of all the questions, ESPECIALLY the ones I got wrong. Don't let DISCOURAGEMENT linger and get you down. Try to look at this whole experience as one that will make you a much better NURSE.

no, you are not alone. i, too, was out of school for a while, had to retake nclex 3 times, and finally just passed on my third time. i used saunders, but i felt like it was more on content. i did kaplan too, but i didnt concentrate on it too much the first 2 times. so my third time, i just did all kaplan book and questions. i ordered the kaplan complete course online. i just concentrated on answering the questions and their rationales. i guess, it worked :) so do not lose hope.
Thanks for all of the comments. I am going to continue studying and retake the exam. Wish me luck.
