Hello.... The application period for Alvin Community College spring 2017 ADN program starts in 2 days... I will be submitting my application for consideration. Just wanted to know if there is anyone else who will be applying too.
I just got my email too. Didn't get selected either. I didn't even make alternateI am with you FutureRN_Taylor, God has a plan! I can't believe I didn't make alternate with a 4.0! Ouch lol.
I am sorry to hear that.. Do you reside in the ACC tax district? And did you take classes at ACC? I'm thinking that's probably one of the main reasons I didn't get accepted because I live outside their tax district and took classes elsewhere
No I do not live in the tax district and have not taken classes there. I am assuming I didn't make the cut because more people ahead of me had all the classes in the program complete? I am in process this semester with Micro, and Life-span. After this semester I will have all the classes done except the actual nursing classes. I have a 4.0 and an 88.4 on the HESI. I will also be studying and retaking the HESI to have a better shot next go. At this point though I might as well just go straight for my BSN.
I am also in the process of taking Micro, which is the only class I didn't have complete. I am going for my BSN, so ACC was just a back up plan for me because I applied for UTMB Summer 2017 BSN program. I have an interview for them next month and I am really hoping I get accepted!
I am also ready for my BSN and I have everything complete but I'm finding very competitive out there. UT Health had somewhere around 1200 applicants and they only accept 100 to 140. some people have some amazing stats. That's the reason I applied at ACC. If I'm not mistaken Micro was a course that had to be completed for the applications, that may have harmed your app. When I went to the meeting they said there had to be a grade for the science courses, "if not you can bet someone will be compete and ready." I could be wrong but she did state that to us. still I wish you the best, maybe BSN is the route you should be taking.. I applied for UTMB and UT Health and did not make either. My grades are good and my HESI was 88 overall (better grades were it counted) and I can't remember my TEAS grade but it was good as well. BEST WISHED TO YOU AND EVERYONE HERE
