Alvin Community College ADN-Fall 2017

Published

Is anyone applying to ACC ADN program for Fall 2017?

What is everyone's stats if y'all don't mind me asking. I'm nervous.

GPA: 4.0

Overall HESI: 92% (96-A&P, 100-vocab)

BUT when I asked at the informational meeting, we were told that 100% of accepted applicants have already completed microbiology as well as Lifespan Psych. I have both of these in progress now (they'll be complete before the Fall semester begins) so unfortunately I think that makes it highly unlikely that I will get in to the program. :-/ Hopefully San Jac comes through for me. :)

GPA 3.84

HESI overall 91.6

AP 88

Vocab 90

Grammar 92

Reding Comp 92

Math 96

I've completed Micro and Lifespan. I applied for Spring and didn't even make the alternate list. I was in progress of Micro and Lifespan though so hopefully this will do it.

hmmm I didn't hear that at the meeting ! I wonder if that really is true.

She didn't offer the information as a talking point, but I asked her outright if, given that they have 250-300 applicants and only take around 40, that means that most accepted applicants have already completed the non-nursing courses and she said, "Yes, they all have them fully complete". :( There is such a large pool of qualified applicants for them to choose from, that they obviously pick those that are the farthest along and who will not have to take extra courses during the program. But we shall see!

Yes we'll see ! I think we all still have a good chance...250 applicants and 40 spots. Better than UT or UTMB....hundreds and hundreds of applicants and only a few spots so I think our chances are great (:

Specializes in ICU.

Did they mention if they do interviews? I hope not lol.
