Almost finished! VENT!

Published

I am in my last quarter of an excellerated LPN to RN program!!!! WOOHOO! :yeah: The problem is I am burnt out and everyhting including my fellow classmates is irritating me- all the time! I could get into a really long story about some different events but I will spare everyone! I just wanted to vent about the simple fact that I hate that the rules apply to some and not to others! Texting, not calling off to class, arguing test questions to no end, bad-mouthing instructors to other instructors, etc. etc... I pray everyday that the LORD will give me the strength to get through this with just 2 and 1/2 months to go! Just wanted to VENT! and I feel awful for doing it:uhoh3:

Get it off your chest...then crash early for a few nights and get some rest. You are probably exhausted and haven't had time to take care of yourself. Go get a massage (even a $15/15 minute chair massage), eat some good food, and spend at least an hour with friends NOT talking about nursing. Do whatever you need to do to refresh yourself!

well, congratulations on being almost finished!! Yes, some students can get rather infantile in their behavior in a nursing program. Fortunately, most new grad nurses that I've worked with, have left all that sort of behavior behind; they are busy learning what's not taught in school . . . real bedside nursing!!

This is exactly how my LPN program was and it made me nuts! Try your best to ignore the crap and push forward toward your goal. It will be wonderful the first time you are able to write RN behind your name. Hang in there.

Take one day at a time. Tell yourself..I will deal with today. My LPN program was filled with a lot of older nuts. The younger ones were serious and some of the older ones my age. But there was group of 30-40 year olds that just seemed to have no desire to be there. I kept my mind on my goal and made it through. Come here and vent..we hear you!!! Keep us posted.

When you say accelerated, do you mean a private LVN to RN?

15 month ADN program the only prereq was being a LPN and passing a HESI entrance exam!

Ballerina, I'm in my last semester of my RN program, too, and I could have written your post. Hang in there. We're almost done. We just have to keep biting our tongues :)
