:coollook: Just out of curiosity, how many of you nurses out there are left handed?

I am such a lefty. When my son was just starting on solid foods, I used to feed myself and him at the same time, but because I must eat with my left, I had to feed him with my right, What a hopeless mess! In the end I had to just feed him seperately, because it wasn't helping either of us.

Turns out he is right handed, so when he wants to color and I try to help him put his name on the paper (more for fun as he isn't quite 2 yet) it ends up very messy.

Lefty also. I dont ever encounter a problem unless it is someone showing me hands on how to do something.. most recent Im trying to learn how to crochet(sp??) and everyone tryint to teach me is right.. And I have neat handwriting!! :)

Not a nurse yet, but I'm a lefty too! I've been trying to teach myself how to write with my right hand and I can do it a little, but my 5 yr old can write better than me writing right-handed. LOL She's a lefty too, by the way. ;-)

There are lots of lefties on my floor at work. At least 5-6 that I can think of.

My daughter is left-handed and it was easy to teach her to write. My son is right-handed and it's really difficult to help him. He's only 2 so it's not a big deal, but he can be so funny at times. Sometimes I'll put the crayon in his left hand and he'll look at me like "that's wrong mommy!" and put it in his right hand. LOL

Just wanted to add to the list.. Me's a Lefty Slefty too!

Hey I'm a lefty also. The crazy thing is my two best friends are left handed and my b/f is too. I am able to use right handed scissors. Throw a ball better with my right hand, but bat left handed, kick a ball with my right foot, golf left handed and play volleyball right or left. I guess i'm a weird one... hehe

Specializes in Med/Surg.

I write and eat left handed, but do just about everything else right handed and a lot of the nursing skills I've checked off on lately I have been practicing to do with either, I think that will come in handy depending on which side of the pt I am on or which side is affected.
