All FSCJ Spring 2013 Hopefuls

Published

Hi everyone! I decided to start this thread in hopes of seeing if there is anyone excited about applying to the fscj RN program spring 2013. I am currently taking a microbiology class this summer. I would have applied for fall 2012 but met with some technical difficulties. I have 206 in total points w/o micro. Let's stay in touch and keep this ball rolling!

Anyone taking micro this fall at south campus with Professor Fair??

Hi everyone. Very excited someone started this post. For the past year I have been reading all the older blogs. I am finishing up with AP2, Human Growth and Development and Microbiology in the next two weeks and then I am focusing on my studies for the NAT exam. I am super nervous. This will be my second career. I use to be a police officer, but after having children I decided it wasn't something I wanted to go back in. Any tips for taking the NAT? I read that someone said to just answer the questions even if you don't know it. I'm taking my boys to the book store today to get some flash cards to study and I have the Arco Master the Nursing & Allied Health Programs Entrance Exams book.

Hey everyone! I am excited to see this thread started..I just completed my NAT last week, didn't do as well as I had hoped. Out of the points they take, I only made an 83. Ahh! I never do well on tests. Did very well on the reading and spelling, but not so well on the arithmitic. Now, my points with my pre-reqs is what may save me. I have 112 points for my classes. So total I have 195 points. I am going to apply for the Spring term, and hope I get in. If not, then I will definitely be retaking the NAT, and just have to apply for Summer term. I procrastinated and waited too long to take the NAT, so therefor I won't be able to retake it in time to apply for Spring if I don't get accepted. But wish me luck. The advisor I spoke to said 195 points should be good, but ya never know. What's everyone else's points looking like?? Tomorrow is the first day you can submit applications...good luck everyone!

Okay, so I finally scheduled my NAT exam. Not going until September 17th, but it works out because I have two weeks off of school in August to study and then the second week of August my parents will be in town for the whole week. This means they'll take care of the kiddos and I can direct all of my attention to studying and school work. Yay!! Thank God I have a super supportive family.

having a super supportive family is awesome!! i don't know what i would do without mine :) good luck on your nat, katsoares!!!

Hey guys I was wondering if anyone had the contact info for a place that does the CPR training. I ve been trying to call St.Vincent because they offer a class for 25$ but I cant get a hold of anyone. I have left several messages and still no response. Thanks for any info you guy may have :)

I've been dealing with the same problem...what number have you been using?

I found the email address that a lot of my friends said to use. Apparently calling just isn't enough lol :) Here is the address: [email protected] Here is the number I've been calling as well: 278-4274 ext 227

katsoares, how was taking AP 2 and micro together? That will be my last 2 pre-reqs. The academic adviser questioned taking them together, however; it will be my only two classes for that semester. I have 5 of my 9 pre-reqs completed, all with A's. I'm a good student, but am feeling pressure about AP and micro.

Thank you for the info :)

It is not easy, but doable. Besides those two classes I also am taking Human Growth. My AP2 class just ended and I got an "A". I thought AP2 was a little easier then AP1, but maybe bc I knew what to expect. Micro is a very hard class. I have my final on Monday. Right now I have an "A" so I am hoping it remains. I am taking the class with Dr Nancy Yurko. She is an awesome teacher.

Hello,

I am looking at FSCJ as a backup plan if I do not get into my BSN program at UCF. I already got my AA from FSCJ and enjoyed taking classes there. The other advantage is that they seem to be the only college that still has a night program. I still have to take my NAT test, I might go in for it on Monday. I read someone stated the night and weekend program is at Deerwood? That would be great since it is closer to my home.
