Hi everyone! I decided to start this thread in hopes of seeing if there is anyone excited about applying to the fscj RN program spring 2013. I am currently taking a microbiology class this summer. I would have applied for fall 2012 but met with some technical difficulties. I have 206 in total points w/o micro. Let's stay in touch and keep this ball rolling!
On the application you have to list all schools attended and bring in the transcripts from each school. IF you have not already, Get another copy of your FSU transcript and your old FSCJ transcript plus anything else you need and take it in with your nursing application BY HAND DIRECTLY to the FSCJ Nursing department and ask. Since its an independant application, they will still accept it and for admission purposes it should not affect your admission to the Nursing Program. Once they can see an application has been made to FSCJ, they(The nursing dept.) do not need to wait for a transfer of credit to process your application ,all they need is proof that the courses were taken. Try it, worse case is they will say wait, best case they will take your application with no problem. If I am wrong let me know, but I'm pretty sure that is how it works...FSCJ is much more user friendly than most other state colleges I've applied to.
Thanks for the advice man-nurse2b. I was worried after reading threads from previous years and some other applicants had the same issue I'm having and we all know how FSCJ can drag their feet on certain things. Not to mention, the nursing application says we're responsible for having all of our classes from each school on the FSCJ transcript.
I will look more into this...

Yeah I don't wait for things to happen , I make things happen. If something is wrong, bet $100 they will see my face at the office next morning buggin them and if the clerk can't fix it, I ask who do I need to talk to to fix it...lol Things like transfers of credit is really someone being lazy to just push a button on a computer :rotfl: They don't have to evaluate anything, the entire Florida Public School College credit system is computerized. Most people who have problems are transferring from private institutions...they might have to push 2 buttons on the computer to get those transferred.:rotfl:

I totally agree. I teach Criminal Justice at a local college and my students constantly complain about the system. I try to teach them if they want things done, they need to go and demand it to be done and not rely on someone else. Unfortunately today the majority of the workforce does the bare min to get by. It is a generation of " give me, give me" unless your parents taught you something different. Sometimes being a pest is the only way to get people to move. Good luck.
Saldridge I'm usually off on Tuesdays and Thursdays ,we can meet at the campus...my email [email protected].@Salori07,We are right down the street from one another. Just let me know when you want to meet up.
Just to update everyone on the transcript situation...
I was worrying for nothing. I called FSU on Wednesday afternoon and had them send my transcripts to FSCJ. I look on Connections today (Friday), and it's already been updated!
So I guess they only drag their feet when they want to...
Also, I mentioned earlier that I was wondering how FSCJ evaluates +/- grades because I had an A- in Sociology at FSU. Well, it shows as an A on Connections. So anyone who is planning on transferring or applying to FSCJ who went to a larger university that graded on this scale, you probably won't have anything to worry about.
Anywho... I take my NAT at 9:00 in the morning tomorrow and I've been practicing my speed like a mad-woman.
