If I don't test out of math, I'll have to take college Algebra along with my other pre reqs. My school only accepts the top 40 students into their nursing program, and I wasn't worried about this until I learned that I may have to take College Algebra. Algebra has never been my forte. Are there any website or apps that would be a good study aid for me that are specifically geared for college algebra? Thanks!

I had to take college algebra. We could only test out of the lower level math classes. I took it over the summer online. I got a B in it. If I had been able to take it in person I could have probably got an A. It was a lot of interpreting graphs and logarithms. We use my math lab at my school and I just kept doing practice problems until I got it. It wasn't easy and I spent some time on the class but it the end I passed. You could look at Khan academy.

After you are accepted into nursing school you will likely find many other topics that aren’t your forte. Maintain this attitude, don’t allow yourself to start thinking that you can’t do it and you will be fine.

Are you taking pre-reqs now? If so, go to your college and see if they have a tutoring lab or something. My school has this great tutoring lab that offers math and reading help along with other subjects and prepares you to take placement tests. And it's all free!

Khan Academy is a life saver, not just in algebra, but in chemistry, biology, etc. It's just a great website all around.

Good day, Purple_roses
Khan Academy plus lots of practice will help one conquer math.
Thank you.
Thank you for all the responses! It looks like Khan academy is going to be my buddy through this class.

Yup, I attribute a lot of long hours on Khan Academy to my A in Intermediate Algebra. While some classmates struggled, I got to apply all of the knowledge I got from Khan Academy. Incredible resource.

Double thumbs up to Khan Academy!!! I got through Organic Chemistry with an A because of their wonderful videos. The way they explain things really makes it a "light bulb" moment! They have loads of math & science tutorials. Use them to supplement what you're learning in class :)
