Alabama to Florida

Published

I recently graduated and passed my boards in Alabama, but have family in Florida and was looking at possible jobs there. If I did this, would I have to take boards all over again there?

No, just go to the Florida board of nursing's website and search for "liscensure by endorsement". You dont retake the boards to get a license in another state, but you do have to fill out a bunch of paperwork and send in fingerprints and about 200 bucks if memory serves me correctly. It can take a couple of months to get it. Good luck!!

yo can applt for a reciprocity license. It may take up to 2 months. You have to get fingerprinted in your state and they'll send a background check...this is what takes most of the time. You can also work for the VA with your alabama license. Good Luck!

Congratulations!

The first word in NCLEX is "National"....meaning it's good nationally and you never have to take that dreadful exam again.

This doesn't mean your "license" is good in all 50 states, you still have to get licensed in each state you work.

Good luck in your career!

So, in you all's opinion, would it be best for me to go ahead and get a job in Alabama while I'm waiting on everything for Florida?
