Hello Everyone!!

Is there anyone out there besides me that has an application package being reviewed by the board committee this month for the Air Force Nurse Corps?

Well, you have to remember this is my first attempt as well. Most of the time there is a better chance your second time up.

it'll be my first as well. what are your plans now if you don't mind me asking?

I also applied for the first time to the Navy Nurse Corps. So we'll see what happens there at the end of the month with those board results. If I don't get selected there I'll just apply for a second time with the Air Force. Both are good branches. I've served in both before on the enlisted side giving me a combined total of about 10 years of service. Me and my wife are of the thinking that wherever I'm supposed to be is where I'll end up so I'm not too worried.

I was not selected. I am so incredibly disappointed. Pike, I admire your attitude, I'm feeling super bad about myself right now. I applied for HPSP so I know it's a little different, but I can't help but wonder what I could've done differently. My recommendations were solid and my two interviewers both recommended selection. I just don't get it.

Sorry to hear you guys weren't selected. Pike, hopefully you get some good news from the Navy. ETamakil, keep your head up and maybe try again next year. I still haven't heard anything from my recruiter.

ETamakil, don't give up. I'm thinking HPSP is extremely competitive. Will you apply again soon?

Pike01 and ETamakiI, keep your head up high. I haven't heard on my end yet. I am currently in the Air Force Reserve Nurse Corps and I am very anxious.

I am currently an Air Force Reserve nurse (4 years), 14 years as a Paramedic, 7 years as a nurse, I have a CCRN, I am six months away from finishing my DNP, honor student, and I still was not selected. But yet if I get deployed, I can work along side Active Duty nurses. Heck, I don't think there is anything more to add to my resume. :)

My Recruiter would like to submit my package again in July 2018. I'm thinking to myself, if the same board reviews my package, what would make them change their decision.

I still haven't heard anything from my recruiter. Im gonna be sad if I don't get selected. Both my interviewers said they would recommend me but I guess it all depends on what the board is looking for.

Buffness, that has to be really frustrating. I agree your resume looks good. I am clueless as to how they could deny you. Hopefully, when you apply in July with your DNP things will be different.

I was anxious to know if I would get selected but I am definitely not frustrated. I am already in the Air Force. In fact, I am a reservist on active duty orders. I just wanted to help out my fellow active duty officers and airmen because I heard nurses were needed on the active duty side. You would think that they would reach down and grab their own but obviously they don't. SMH. "It is what it is." It is not a loss for me.
