Hey everyone. I'm applying for a critical care slot for FY 2018 and was wondering if there is anyone else going through the application process?

I was under the impression that everyone was selected last week... and was just waiting assignments. I am so confused. South Carolina here.

Usually the boards have a president (a one star or Col if they are like any of the other AF boards) and those people handle the ties that may occur. Either way, this wait is a killer!

I think those of us in NC/SC/parts of Georgia probably all have the same recruiter... I haven't heard anything new this week, he's not responding :/ Hopeful for "no later than Monday" though that's the second time I've heard those exact words. Hopefully soon everyone!

I was told the same thing, that there was a split on the board decision and that we should hopefully know by the end of next week 10/13. I know we are tired of waiting. This was not the issue last year. Still wish everyone good luck!

If anyone is hoping for this coming Monday, I just wanted to mention that it's Columbus Day, which is a Federal holiday. Nobody will be in the office on Monday to release results, and recruiters should be off work as well. Some bases even take the Friday before a holiday off as a "Family Day" so I am expecting that everything will be stalled a few extra days now.

Otherwise, a tie-breaker sounds pretty intimidating at this point, but there are several different nursing specialties. Unless there are multiple tie-breakers, then only one specialty is actually affected by this decision. Although this may draw out the process for everyone, there is some comfort in realizing that the tie-breaker probably wasn't needed in the specialty that you are applying for. That's what I am telling myself anyway.

I applied for fully qualified, I heard that they were really in need of OR so trying not to stress too badly lol Are you OR also?
