Just talked to my recruiter and he said that the decisions have been made/assignments assigned but we are waiting for the general to sign off on them (military law). The general was TDY last week which is why we did not find out on Friday. However, the general is expected to sign off on them this week and then we will be notified. Fingers crossed that we do! Good luck to everyone!

It's crazy that people who don't graduate until May know they are in, but folks who are fully qualified are still waiting. I am an experienced ICU nurse with my CCRN and my master's degree, but they already picked new nurses. My consolation is that I'm still working and have a secure future while I wait. Hang in there!

Comes down to numbers and slots for when new nurses can go to a hospital for their training. This is why you need to put in your package as soon as you can. The sooner you go to a board the sooner you can leave.

I know that, but when I started this process back in May, we had originally thought we'd go for the October COT! Now it is looking too late even for January. I truly wasn't expecting this. I'm ok now that I have to wait. The problem with March for me is that my daughter is getting married on April 1st. If I'm in COT, I will miss her wedding. (But since I don't approve, I hope it may change her date and buy me some time so she won't marry him! lol)

Anyone on the East Coast hear anything?

10 months waiting....and counting

i'm on the east coast and haven't heard anything. the waiting is starting to drive me crazy and dampen my enthusiasm for joining...any day now hopefully.

Mobro, Don't let the wait lessen your enthusiasm. You're so upbeat! At least you do know you're in. I haven't heard anything. They have to get all the accepted people thru COT and to their appropriate training then to first stations and spread out the new grad nurses well and not bunch them all up in 1 place. It has to be a logistics nightmare. If I get a call and have to scramble to get everything to go in January, I'll be crazy and excited. But if I have to wait until March, or whenever (yeah, maybe I need to be more patient!), I'll just have to deal with it. It just sounded so sure that I would be going in January. So I really do know how you feel. It has really helped me keep my sanity hearing from so many others in my exact same shoes. There are at least 13 people holding their breaths waiting. So we will all get to turn blue together (lol!).

mobro... there are many of us waiting. just hang in there. try not to think about it by keeping yourself busy. we already made it thru the selection process, and that's achievement enough! maybe i'll see you gals in march COT? =]

i know there are a bunch of people waiting to hear anything. i didn't mean to sound like i was complaining. i was just very excited to get this little adventure started and not hearing anything for weeks on end is tiring. i'm still excited! but also ready to know when and where i'll be going.

Mobro, I know how you feel. It 4pm and for some strange reason I thought I'd hear something by now! lol. I'm as impatient as you to get started.

Anyone still waiting to hear something about selection/rejection??

I've heard nothing and my package went out in August for the November board.

I still have not heard anything from my recruiter. Every time I talk with her, she gives me another date. So, still no word whether I was accepted. She told me to call back on Wednesday. I would rather be told that it may take a few months instead of being told to call back all of the time.

Hey, firefiter..... It's going to be a few months! lol. There, you feel better? (sorry, my sad attempt at humor). I figure for me, January is out. Recruiter had nothing today, none of his waiting folks did. It would be a scramble to close up my house and business, but if I can go in January, I will be one happy scrambler!

Welcome to the Air Force...hurry up and wait.

I know, I know, it's poor consolation...believe me, I know how all of you feel.

Good things will happen - I just know it.
