Is anyone else on here applying for FY 2015 for Air Force? I'm in the process of applying for the selection board in October 2014 and it would be great to hear from someone else also applying for the end of this year! :)
Hi all! So I didn't get selected for the September 2014 boards and am applying for them again this year....which let me tell you, the months seem to be dragging by! Anyways, when would you guys suggest I start contacting my recruiter again? The recruiter I had last go round got moved to be the physician recruiter, so I will have a new one this time through. I remember contacting him around April last year, but didn't know how long I should wait this time to contact him.
I'm trying to remain more hopeful this time around. I'll have another year experience under my belt and changed jobs to a hospital/unit that does everything...surgeries, ECMO, ect. so I'm hoping that helps. And I"m taking my certification test in August, so hoping I pass that! This whole waiting this is taking way too long!
I was selected for the airforce PMHNP scholarship program in late may. I am currently a student at Drexel University, but switching to Rutgers DNP Program in the fall and the airforce is going to cover the tab☺ Super excited. Any one else recently selected for a NP position or scholarship with info about what to expect next?
I'm A FQ FNP submitting a packet for the current board this month. Congrats NP hopeful on your acceptance!! I did the old fashioned go to school then consider AF route so no clue on scholarship but we will see about the selection in a few weeks. The only interview I had was a very nice Chief Nurse who kept saying how competitive everything is and she would have liked to see my CCRN and PCCN certifications (lapsed). Civ world vs. AF as an NP. I signed up for my CCRN-K test and also for a Cert for Tob Treatment Specialist in Nov. If youre doing PMHNP and can get away for three days that tobacco cert might be very useful. ( FSU med school). Apparently they like certifications, or so I was told. Good luck and that CCRN should keep me busy until I hear back on the selection:)
It depends on your alternate number. If you're #1 or 2, then you have a decent chance. Otherwise, I'd say next to none. Your recruiter will know your alternate number.
If you put Anchorage, on your list you'll be very likely to get it. Your chances of getting Italy or Germany off the bat are fairly slim.
