Aiken Tech Fall 2014 hopefuls!!

Has anyone applied for the ADN program at Aiken Tech? I know the deadline for applications isn't until May 30th but I have had my paperwork ready and submitted it today and the suspense is killing me ALREADY!! Just wanted to see if anyone else was waiting to get in and wanted to see how many points others had, their GPA and teas scores.

Wow!!! I was born in Germany!!! This is going to be hard! I thought that you had to just update all of your shots? Please tell me more. I might need to get on this quick. We will not have much time between fall and spring with all of the holidays.

The paperwork says that we need hard copies of our vaccinations. For measles, mumps, rubella we need records of two vaccinations or a positive antibody titer, for varicella (chicken pox) we need records of two vaccinations, a positive titer or a documented history of having the disease. For her b qe need a record of three immunizations, a negative or positive titer, or a declination waiver (easy one). We need a two step TB test, or records of two consecutive tests, or a QuantiFERON gold blood test, and if positive for TB we need a clear chest xray. We need an up to date tetorifice booster (10 years). And we need a flu vaccination or waiver, another easy one.

I wonder if I can just get my vaccinations again, it would probably be easier, I'll have to call ATC tomorrow and find out, and also to ask about the declination waivers for hep b, since it requires three (but I'll get them anyways.)

Actually, I'm probably just going to go with the titer test, it's around $180 dollars for MMR/Hep B/Varicella, and then just get a 2 step TB and a tetorifice booster, the titer is much cheaper than the immunizations.

Just got home and there my acceptance letter was in the mailbox!!! I am the happiest girl in the world right now! :) Congrats to everyone who was accepted! I can't wait to attend school with each of you in August!

I'm trying to sign up for the July 9th CPR class, I emailed about registering for it already.

Cakers45, the hospital said that it could take 30 - 60 days to get my records to me, so if my high school can't fax them then it's titers.

Happy For all of you ! I did not get in.. NickH I have my shots up to date, but I have gotten them all at my job. So no hard copies.. I had HepB in 2006, Flu,TB yearly , and tetorifice booster. I have no idea how to get around that one to apply again for the spring. I am so old we did not have school shot records lol. Any way I will be taking micro in the fall,but loose a scholarship due to not attending full time. I am proud of all of you !!

Thanks for the update on the shots. I have a copy of the requested shot records from the Sur tech program. I will get on that right away. It seems like we may make it in the spring. TMORRIS52 which micro are you taking? I am taking James. Did anyone else take him, and do you have any advice?

cakers45, I believe James also. I am taking the hybrid course with lab on Wednesday nights, due to my work schedule. I was told to study his power points and lab notes with quizlet. Oh I am truly the old lady of the group.. age 52. I feel like everyone's mom...:-)

I have a question about the TB skin test....I noticed on the paper it says that we have to have two different TB tests done and within 3 weeks apart....does anyone know if the results for these tests are both due by July 25th because that will be extremely hard to schedule two different test dates especially since it's already basically the beginning of July.
