Hi everyone,
I´m a registered nurse from Germany with 4 years experience. Went to the whole registration process with ahpra and waited 7 months. Today I received an email, that they are considering to refuse my application. The reason for that is, that they do not consider my training as equivalent with the Australian one. That is really a joke. Has someone ever been in this situation before? How did you write your appeal letter?
@lisbeth22
Still waiting for news from AHPRA. My CO told me he "was able" to send the appeal to the board meeting and I will hear about the outcome shortly. Whatever this means...
Reviewing the visa process, the assessment by ANMAC was an easy walk through against the registration with AHPRA and with DIAC it was even more easy. But the ANMAC one can have changed due to the updated requirements by AHPRA.
@bolha
However, you can argue from the point of view when the desicion was made by AHPRA. If the new requirements were not set at this date, you could not act by them! So find a way to put yourself into the right light for the past day, if it is easier to show.
@lisbeth22
You are right, Germany was one of the founding countries of the EU directive in the 1970s before others joined later! However, Australian burocracy seems to be even more stupid in some aspects than the one in German.
Will do an easy Certificate III course in the beginning and then see what happens... The final flight is in less than three weeks :).

@ordoghaz - I got a high enough IELTS-score for ANMAC (academic) but am missing 0.5 points in the written part in order for me to claim an 8 or higher in all 4 subjects. That's why I'm going for the general. It'll be my last try as I really don't want to be spending more money on English exams. I'm still waiting to hear from ANMAC (I'm guessing end of April/May) as far as my skills assessment. It will be interesting to see if I will end up going to Australia or not. It's in the hands of ANMAC (and then DIAC) :)
@bolha - I had success with my appeal though I'm beginning to believe it was mainly because I had clinical experience from Australia. This is just pure guess work as it could be other factors as well. I will send you an email :)
@danapal - any news?
