Hi people,

Im looking for good agencies or recruitment firm

Pls. Suggest your agencies and what are the benefits and how long is the contract.

Thanks..

Have u heard of AmeriPhil-USGC

I called them and i think it's a good recruitment firm.

They said that they have a review for nclex worth 20,000

- guaranteed job placement

they're going to process all the papers for nclex

But here you have to pay for your expenses like nclex, ielts, the review fee etc.

but then if you pass they will refund all your expenses

There are no agency or placement fees

free airfare to USA

and 2 months free housing or $2000 cash

the process will work for 14 - 16 months..

What do you think of this?

Do you have a particular state in mind? Are you presently working and how long have you been working? Most agencies/hospitals in the US are looking for well-trained nurses.

20,000pesos? that's like $435.00....guaranteed job placement..is it a r/t airfare? in what state? what hospital? is it a hospital? or ltc? how much per hour? no placement fees? how are they going to make money? 2 months free housing? where at? $2,000.00 cash? how are you going to eat? what about transportation? how long is your contract? what type of visa are you going to have? since we have retrogression right now, i think no ways you can get that visa in less than 2 years...pls. read the fine prints carefully. it seems like its too good to be true. you might want to find out what's the catch.:uhoh21:

Sorry, but they do not pay for your airfare for free, or give you free housing. It will be taken from your pay, they are not doing it just for the fun of it, but they run a business. And businesses are in the field to make money, not donate their services.

And with placement, it just means that you are going to be sold to the highest bidder. Nothing more. I am sure that they cannot tell you the facility right now where they will place you. And this is what you should know up front, as well as if hospital or LTC.

And the above poster is correct, we have a retrogression right now, and you have not even taken any tests? How can they promise that you will be in the US then?

Please be very careful before you sign any contract as they are legaly binding and most have a large cancellation fee for you to get out of it.

When something sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

Hello guys! Thanks for replying to my thread.

Well I prefer California, and I am not working right now because I just took the board exam.

They said there is no contract yet but after I pass the nclex, That's the time my contract will start.

They said the hospital that I will be working on will pay for them and thats how they get their money.

Thank you!! :)

SUGAR RN;

If you are at the NCLEX stage in your pursuit of US Employment, why do you need an agency? If you pass the NCLEX and have CGFNS VisaScreen complete, then I would post your resume' immediately to all hospitals in California that you wish to apply. Once you find an acceptance, your new hospital will start the process of your visa with an offer letter. Most hospitals who will respond to you are capable of starting your visa petition without the need for a "middleman / fixer".

The agency groups make their money two ways;

First they charge YOU a fee to get all the paperwork started (which your hospital can do as well!). Then they "loan" you the money for airfare, housing, transportation, etc at an exhorbitant interest rate that you must pay back through your obligation in the contract for a period of years!

In addition, they charge the hospital a fee as well!!

You are paid a "salary" that is about 1/2 the going rate (in Calif. you should start at at least 25.00/hr new grad) but the agency will keep about 12.00/hr as part of their fee! So you will be getting 1/2 salary for 2 years or more, depending on the contract. In addition, they will deduct housing, transpo, visa fees, lawyer fees, etc over the duration of that same contract.

Why pay a huge fee when you can negotiate directly with the hospital on theses very items? Also, you may be offered a sign on bonus..sometimes thousands of dollars, but your "agency" will not pay that to you either!! they can keep it if they so choose.

Finally, read AGAIN what Suzanne and others are telling you...that you will simply be placed to the highest bidder regardless of what your preferences are in location and type of facility (Nursing Home, Hospital..etc).

Take control of YOUR future by contacting the hospitals directly and let them guide you through the process.

Can they even tell you which hospital or what location that it is in? There are areas in CA where nurses do not want to work. Suggest that you check out the thread at the top of this forum about safety and you can plug in the area to compare it to another.

And you are being sold to the highest bidder. Not a good thing, and there is nothing that is done for free, it will be coming from your paycheck. And are you an actual employee of the hospital, or this agency"?

Specializes in awaiting for Schedule A visa...

I even found a contract that says "if the agency cannot find an employer for the client (nurse), the client shall pay the agency with all the expenses incurred plus 20,000 USD"...

Can you imagine that?

Hello!! thanks for the replies again..

I think I don't need that agency :)

I am just wondering and I am confused on the steps that I will take in preparing to work their in US since I am from the Phillippines. Right now I am waiting for my ATT

And I felt unhappy about the issue of retrogression. What do you think is the fastest way on landing to America and finding a good job.. :)

There is no fastest way to get to the US you have to wait for retrogression to pass and visas to be allocated. Currently once you have passed NCLEX you can look for an employer and they will start the process and I140 is filed, will take several months to get approval (check out the Nebraska and Texas threads in the International forum, they will give you an idea on waiting times and you have no choice which centre you file with all go to Nebraska to start with) and then file goes to NVC and then it becomes a waiting game for visa. You can not go to USA and expect to change status as the same thing No visas available.

hi everyone...most of the posts here discourage nurses from applying thru an agency because of not so good experiences...thus i would like to ask if somebody would tell about their experiences in applying directly to an employer. thanks.
