Do not know of a national agency with a good reputation. The closest that I have heard of is Bayada, a regional company. Generally, you read good comments about Bayada. Other than that, your best bet for getting in with a good company, are your local agencies.

I work for Premier Home Health Care Services, Inc. and I can tell you that we do -everything- by the book and are always as compliant as humanly possible. We have branches in the Northeast, OH, NC, FL.
Most agencies that are part of the Visiting Nurse Association have a good reputation and follow Medicare regs. However, individual agencies are only as good as the leadership allows:)

My daughter worked for them in Louisiana. I think someone tried to harm her at the company Christmas party, put something in her drink - she was almost killed in a rollover ejection accident.
I agree with the VNA suggestion. I worked for them about 20 years ago and really had a good experience. They are non-profits and tend to pay less than privately owned agencies, but they have a great mission.

that is nationally recognized?
