how old were you when you started taking your pre- classes?
im a passholder and i try to visit disneyland 1 time a month:)
i swear it keeps me sane
Hi Disneydiva!!Obviously it looks like from our user names that we have something in common!! I lived in Ontario for 15 years prior to moving to the midwest. Was born and raised a CA girl! Just got back from a trip to Disney World over the holidays!
To answer your question:
49 y/o when I started taking pre-reqs.
52 y/o @ graduation from an ADN program this May!!
Best wishes all!!
-I was 20 when I started my pre reqs,
-I was 22 when I got my AA,
-I am NOW 23-just finished pre-req. last semester-took organic chemistry & physio @ same time. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO STRESSED OUT IN MY LIFE. I can honestly say THAT LAST SEMESTER was the MOST STRESSFUL SEMESTER IN MY ENTIRE LIFE!! and I haven't even started the NS or LVN program yet :sstrs:
-This spring 08 semester I plan to complete my CNA.
-I'll be applying for NS this summer...and hopefully getting in a NS in the spring -09, or august 09 for LVN... I'll be @ 24 starting NS or and 25 starting an LVN program if all goes well. I'll be making my back up plans just incase. :thnkg:
-Finishing @ 26-27 for NS (5 semesters at my school of choice)or Finishing @ about the same age as well for LVN (takes 18 mos...supposedly).
from there I'll move on to my next step.
I am starting my pre-regs. @ 50. I have to work my 4 days to help pay for my son's college and the bills. I would like to do the CNA thing first or maybe look into LPN school. Not sure I have what it takes for NS. Some days I feel my age and other days I feel I can do it. I am so thrilled to see other 50+ peeps here. It is inspiring. Please tell me how you guys did it/ and how you are finding the time to study etc. When ever I say anything about maybe going the LPN route, people say just do the RN thing. Even the resp. therapist say that !! I know my hospital has a Family Health Center wheere they hire LPN's. Or the agencies pay well too I have heard. But they do have places in the ER where they utilize LPN's. I just miss helping people directly (I work in a hospital lab). Do NS's respect that you have completed LPN school ? Does that help you ? I would work part time anyway. How do you do the LPN program and still work during the day ? Thanks for letting me rant. Anyhoo great thread.
