Affinity Testing

Nurses Recovery

Updated:   Published

I was hoping someone could shed some light for me. I'm currently in IPN and I usually get pick of the 55$ urine test (Panel 737675). Occasionally I get picked for the more expensive urine test 80$ (Panel 792020 & 764205). But today when I got up and checked in, it said I was selected for a special test, a Blood Test! And this blood test costs $138! I was floored, I called affinity and my case manager and neither of them could tell me why & and they weren't allowed to tell me what the test included?? Whatever I've learned I can't win with IPN. Anyways the panel for the blood test is O-792070. Please does anyone know what is this test is? I've looked everywhere online and can't find anything.

So it looks as if this o-792070 panel is the Peth test. By doing a google search, I found results from affinity that were published through a court preceding. I'm pregnant. I sure as hell ain't going to be drinking. Lol. I get having to be picked at random for these new special tests but this is dumb. If their goal is to catch me doing ****, it ain't going to be alcohol. In fact, no drugs! I can't take **** pregnant! Nothing but Tylenol. I pride myself passing all the previous without being called out for dilute urine due to having to pee q1hr. Anywho, check the link below. It even describes the organic chemical compound they test for!

I am also in a program using Affinity, recently called for blood test Option 12, and can verify that on my billing of laboratory testing, under the heading Lab Code, it states:

"Option 12 - PEth (DrugScan)"

So a blood test only test for alocohol??

How far back does it go?? I got selected for a blood test 0-792070 and asked if this was peth test they said they couldn't tell me..said results would be back in 3 to 5 days if positive will take extra week..it was 130 plus 4p for collection site ??

peTH can detect ethanol for up to 21 days.

Are you with Affinity? And what state?

Usually its peTH. Can detect alcohol up to 3-4 weeks for binge drinking/large amounts. (Generally blood tests aren’t great for drug testing since most can’t detect over 12-24 hours. That’s why urine/saliva/hair is preferred.)

peTH test is fairly costly though. Usually around $100 give or take. Plus any local lab fees.
Hope that helps.

I’m in the monitoring program as well, just started my 5 year sentence in October. I’m feeling very anxious and defeated. I am unable to find work d/t my restricted license, so obviously I am very discouraged. Do any of you live in Utah?

I’ve had 3 urine tests ($70 each) within the past 10 days. All my tests have come back negative, so why am I getting tested so frequently?

NurseDiane, are you still active on this site?

Has anyone had results say no result? What does that mean says that for couple of days now..

HELP re: hand sanitizer! Texas TPAPN EEP says if we use hand sanitizer we risk testing positive for alcohol. I do NOT have an option to NOT use hand sanitizer at my job. Any word from people here that have clean tests but are still living life as a normal nurse? The other day I was pulling up some ativan and some got on my hand, etc. I don't want to live in fear that these tests are so psycho-specific I'll get in trouble for kissing a boy that just had a drink etc.

I can 100% stay drug and alcohol-free but all the horror stories are making me consider just surrendering my license.

I don't want to fear having a perfume sample bust me.

Real talk please from someone that works in a hospital/floor setting.

THANKS!

I am coming up on the end of my 5 year contract and use hand sanitizer at work and in regular life and have never been positive. I believe them saying that is if you use it right before you give a sample you could contaminate it, etc. Just don't drink and run any med you take by them and you will be just fine.
