AF Nov 2011 Boards

Published

Well the paperwork and interview are finished and I'm just waiting to see if I get in. Just wanted to start this thread for others in the Nov 2011 boards and see who the competition is. ;) Good luck to everyone.

Oh, a quick rundown on me. I'm 33 with 2 years ICU, ER, and Supervisor experience graduating with my BSN in May 2012. I'm seeking anykind of commissioning but hopefully a flight or ICU position. I'm an active individual so not really worried about the PT, just ready to get going serving my country.

Hi all!

I found out today I was accepted, I will find out Monday where and when my COT date is. My father served in the Army in Vietnam so I am so proud to serve and thankful for this. I already ordered an Air Force hat! I have been waiting for a year and a half to get in so I can finally breathe a little.....my training routine will get intensified now! Congratulations to everyone and I hope we all get chosen, it is obvious if we are on here we are serious and want to serve.

ken27,

so glad to hear that you liked it there. i hear that this base is envied among most AF personel. I live in Fort Walton so, it really worked out well for me!

The ER is kinda small though, right?

Just keeping the thread alive and hoping everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. Lets remember all of those deployed away from their families. Still hoping for some good news next week.

Hello to Everyone! I too, wanted to keep this thread alive. I am sure that we all still have questions. But, does anyone want to start a Feb. COT thread, too?

I will def have some more questions. As of now, I am expecting to go to COT with my credit card ready to buy all the necessary things. The web site for inbound COT trainees is pretty helpful.

For those still pending an answer, I hope that it comes this week. Hopefully, your recruiters were just out of the office for the holidays and will deliver good news this week!!!!!

So how many will be calling their recruiter on Monday to see if they got in? Or will I be the only one?

hello, sorry to hear the sad news. i, too had been waiting. i have a health issue and past financial problems. did your recruiter tell you the reason? hey, it's not the end of the world, why don't you try the public health officer, there was a thread waaay back regarding that commissioning program - it's the same as being an officer in the military, but you don't get deployed, check it out. Things happen for a reason, goodluck to you.

I feel your pain, I am going to call if I don't hear from her by the end of the day. She did say she was out of town for the holiday. I hope she will be back to work on Monday. I have a bad feeling and I have this time to work on Plan B. My brother mentioned applying to work as a civilian nurse at an overseas base. Maybe even working in Afghanistan. So this helps me with the wait and possible rejection. I may apply again, but this takes so long, an other year goes by...or more. SO I am thinking of joining the Rrservers as a Flight Nurse (I haven't looked into this yet) and maybe do some contract work, or move to an ICU, ED, or OR position so I can get some experience and look better for these jobs I want. Until then good luck!

You people have NOT yet heard no! Don't give up yet. Hang in there. I know how rough that wait is. It's worth it. Your recruiter may not have answers yet. No answer means wait.

Hello everyone, I made it too! Got my first choice (Andrews) and I leave Jan 9. When this all hits me tomorrow I will have my panic attack then (or poop a brick!) . I really never thought I would leave in January (if I got accepted)! 5 weeks to get in shape! Good thing I have been running.
